The Massapequa Fire Department was alerted for a house fire on Eastlake Avenue about 20:20 on September 1, 2026. All units responded from the West End as all companies were at their department meeting. First Assist Chief McCaffrey arrived and transmitted a working fire and fire showing from the attached garage of a two story home. Chief of Department Zimmerman arrived shortly after and took command of the scene. Engines 6314 and 6315 secured hydrants, the Engine crews stretched and operated three hand lines to extinguish the fire that had extended into the home on the first and second floors. The crews from Ladders 632 and 636, laddered, vented and searched the home with all searches being negative. The fire took about an hour to bring under control with no reported injuries. Mutual Aid to the scene was provided by the Seaford, North Massapequa, Amityville, and Bethpage Fire Departments. The fire displaced ten residents and the cause is under investigation.

The Deer Park Fire Department was called to an MVA with a reported car into a house on Nicolls Road about 04:45 on August 30, 2026. Assistant Chiefs Jackson, Albanese, Heisenbuttel responded along with Rescue Engine 1-4-6, Engine 1-4-11 Ambulances 1-4-1, 1-4-3 and Fire Police 1-4-15. Units arrived and found a Mercedes sedan that had been traveling south on Cayuga Avenue went straight at the intersection and across the lawn of a one story home and crashed completely into the living room of the home. Crews secured the vehicle and checked the damage to the home. There were no injuries to anyone in the home. The 19 year old driver of the Mercedes was taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital for evaluation and was later arrested and charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and illegally Possessing a hand gun according to a Suffolk County Police statement.

The East Farmingdale Fire Company was alerted for an MVA with reported entrapment at Michael Avenue and Route 110 just before 06:00 August 27, 2026. First Responder 1-5-80 arrived first and confirmed the entrapment and reported the driver of a Nissan Frontier pick up truck was heavily pinned and the passenger had been removed through a window. The Nisaan had collided with the rear tailgate of a Lays Chips box truck. First Assistant Chief Greco arrived and took command of the scene. Heavy Rescue 1-5-4, Engines 1-5-1, 1-5-7 Ambulances 1-5-8, 1-5-10 and Fire Police 1-5-16 responded. The crews put multiple extrication tools into operation to remove the driver and passenger side doors and displaced the dashboard to extricate the driver in about 20 minutes. The driver and passenger from the Nissan and the driver of the box truck were all taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital for their injuries. The Farmingdale Fire Department sent one ambualnce to the scene to assist in transporting one patient.

The Copiague and North Lindenhurst Fire Departments were alerted for a dual response for a house fire on Decker Street in the late afternoon of August 24, 2026. Copiague Second Assistant Chief Guella arrived first and reported smoke showing from the basement and rear of a two story home. North Lindenhurst Engine 1-11-1 was first due and had a hydrant before the house. The crew from 1-11-1 put one line into operation to extinguish a contents fire in a basement bedroom. Crews from Copiague Engines 1-3-7 and 1-3-10 worked as a truck company and searched the home and checked for extension both of which were negative. The fire was under control in about 30 minutes with no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Bethpage Fire Department was alerted for house fire on Ellen Street about 15:30 on August 21, 2026. Engine 9044 was the first unit to respond and was given additional information that the caller was reporting smoke in the basement. 9044 arrived and reported nothing showing from the three story home. Engine 9055 arrived next and Lieutenant McEvoy established command. Crews made entry into the home and found fire burning in multiple bays of a wall between the first and second floor and a working fire was transmitted. Engine crews stretched two lines with one going into operation to extinguish the fire after the crews from Rescue 3 and Ladder 4 opened up walls on the first and second floors. All searches were negative and the fire was contained to the area in the wall. The fire was under control within an hour with no reported injuries. Mutual aid to the scene was provided by the Farmingdale, Hicksville and Syosset Fire Departments. The Plainview and South Farmingdale Fire Departments stood by at Bethpage Headquarters. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Third Assistant Chief Trimarco took over command when he arrived on scene.

The Seaford Fire Department was alerted for a house fire on Jackson Avenue about 10:25 on August 10, 2026. Second Assistant Chief Lochner was the first to respond. Members responding to the firehouse a block away reported smoke and flames were visible from the firehouse. Chief Lochner arrived and transmitted a working fire and had fire showing from the rear of a one and a half story home. Engine 681 was first due and had a hydrant in front of the house. Engine crews stretched two lines with one going into operation to quickly extinguish the fire and contain to the area that involved a deck and part of the house. The crew from Ladder 683 searched the home and checked for extension, both of which were negative. The fire was under control within an hour with no reported injuries and the cause is under investigation. Mutual aid to the scene was provided by the Wantagh and Massapequa Fire Departments, while units from the Bellmore, Bethpage, and North Massapequa Fire Departments stood by at Seaford Headquarters.

The East Farmingdale Fire Company and North Lindenhurst Fire Department were alerted for a dual response to a reported house fire on 7th Street about 12:55 on July 30, 2026. Engine 1-5-1 was the first unit on scene and reported smoke showing then transmitted a working fire shortly after, with fire showing from the exposure 2 side of a one story home. 1-5-1 had a hydrant across from the home and that crew put the first line into operation on the first floor. Ladder 1-5-15 arrived and set up in front of the house and that crew began searching and venting the home. Third Assistant Chief Wright arrived and took command of the scene. Upon further investigation, the fire was located in the basement and had extended to the first floor through the walls. When additional engine crews arrived, the second line was brought to the basement. The fire caused a partial floor collapse under the bathroom. The fire was brought under control within an hour with no reported injuries, and all searches were negative. There was nobody home at the time of the fire and the cause is under investigation. Mutual aid to the scene was provided by the West Babylon and Lindenhurst Fire Departments and North Babylon and Wyandanch Fire Companies.

The Wyandanch Fire Company was called to a reported house fire on Clearview Drive about 07:50 on July 26, 2026. Chief of Department Ron was the first to respond and was advised multiple calls were being taken, then reported shortly after he had smoke visible. Chief Ron arrived and transmitted a working fire and had heavy fire showing from the second floor of a two story split-level home. First Assistant Chief Brown arrived soon after. Engine 1-10-1 was first due and had a hydrant before the house and that crew put the first line into operation. Dix Hills Quint 2-8-8 was the first Truck on scene and set up in front of the house. As additional engine crews arrived, two additional lines were stretched and operated to extinguish the fire that had now extended into the attic and through the roof. It took about an hour to bring the fire under control with all searches being negative. One resident was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital by Wyandanch-Wheatley Heights Ambulance with burns to the arm. Two firefighters were also injured, one was treated at the scene and the other was transported to North Shore Plainview Hospital by Melville Fire Department Ambulance. Mutual aid to the scene was provided by the Dix Hills, Deer Park, West Babylon, and Melville Fire Departments and the East Farmingdale and North Babylon Fire Companies. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Seaford Fire Department was alerted for a house fire on Park Avenue about 23:55 on July 24, 2026. Assistant Chiefs Diehl and Lochner responded first and were told multiple calls were being taken reporting an ebike on fire in the front of the house. The Chiefs arrived to find the porch area involved and that fire had already extended into the first floor and a working fire was transmitted. Chief of Department Beehler arrived shortly after and took command of the scene. Engine 682 was first due and had a hydrant next to the house. Wantagh Engine 691 secured a second hydrant. Engine crews stretched four hand lines to the house and to protect exposures. The fire quickly spread throughout the second floor and attic of the two story home, forcing firefighters to evacuate the home for a short time while two master streams were used to knock down heavy fire. Firefighters reentered the house to extinguish remaining pockets of fire and had the fire under control within 90 minutes. All searches were negative and one resident was taken to a local hospital for evaluation. Mutual aid to the scene was provided by the Massapequa, Wantagh, Bellmore, North Bellmore, Merrick, and Bethpage Fire Departments. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

While returning from a pump test at the Nassau Fire Service Academy, Point Lookout-Lido Fire Department Engine 255 came upon a house fire on Merritts Road in Farmingdale about 21:30 on July 20, 2026. They immediately notified Nassau County Firecom who alerted the Farmingdale Fire Department. Engine 255 secured a hydrant and stretched a line to the rear of the two story house where the fire was burning up the exterior and extending into the garage and attic. Chief of Department Tortoso arrived and transmitted a working fire. Engine 921 arrived and secured a second hydrant and that crew stretched a second line as other memebrs took over the line from Engine 255. When additional crews arrived, a third line was stretched if needed. Ladder 926, Bethpage Ladder 3, and North Amityville Quint 1-7-3 set up in front of the house. The fire was brought under control within an hour and all searches were negative. The occupants home at the time exited the house safely and there were noreported injuries. Mutual aid to the scene was provided by the Amityville, Bethpage, Hicksville, Massapequa, and Plainview Fire Departments and the East Farmingdale and North Amityville Fire Companies. Wantagh-Levittown Ambulance Corps also sent an Ambulance to the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
