At approximately 1335 hrs on Thursday, January 15th, 2026, the Copiague, Lindenhurst, and North Lindenhurst Fire Departments responded to a reported garage fire on Oak Street off Great Neck Road. Upon arrival, 1st Assistant Chief Orlando confirmed an active fire in a detached garage to the rear of the residence. Engine 1-3-10 arrived on scene and stretched one line into operation. North Lindenhurst FD Truck 1-11-4 performed searches, which proved to be negative. Lindenhurst FD Engine 1-6-1 assisted with truck company operations and forced entry through the two-side door. The fire was located in the rear of the detached garage. There were no reported injuries, and the cause of the fire is under investigation. Units operated under the command of 1st Assistant Chief of the Copiague Fire Department, Nicholas Orlando.

At approximately 0320 hours on Sunday, November 16th, 2025, the North Amityville Fire Company was alerted for an unknown type fire in the parking lot of 1255 Sunrise Highway. Suffolk County Police arrived on scene and reported numerous vehicles on fire in a gated lot behind 315 Ralph Avenue off of New Highway. Engine 1-7-2 arrived on scene and confirmed SCPD’s reports, finding seven cars and two trucks well involved. The crew from 1-7-2 forced entry into the lot and stretched one line into operation. An additional engine from the Amityville Village Fire Department and a ladder from the North Lindenhurst Fire Department were requested to the scene. Upon arrival of Amityville Engine 1-1-2, they assisted with fire extinguishment, while North Lindenhurst Ladder 1-11-4 forced entry into 124 and 125 New Highway to check for extension into the commercial structures, which was negative. There were no reported injuries, and the cause of the fire is under investigation. Units operated under the command of the officer of Engine 1-7-2 until Chief of Department McLeod arrived and assumed command.

At approximately 0317 hours on Saturday, November 15, 2025, the Massapequa Fire Department was alerted to a reported house fire on Clocks Boulevard, off of Roosevelt Avenue. Upon arrival, Chief J. Friedland (6300) transmitted a Signal 10 for a deck fire located on the 3 side, with extension into the dwelling. Engine 6314 arrived first due and deployed a handline to the rear of the structure. Engine 6315 stretched a second line into the interior to prevent further fire spread. Truck 632 conducted primary searches throughout the residence, all of which proved negative. Mutual aid was provided by the Amityville Fire Department, responding as the F.A.S.T. (TL 1-1-5), and the South Farmingdale Fire Department, responding with a ladder (L978). The incident was brought under control without any reported injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation. All units operated under the command of Chief J. Friedland (6300) of the Massapequa Fire Department.

At approximately 0520 hours on Saturday, July 12th, 2025, the Amityville Fire Department was notified of a reported auto fire at the intersection of Oak Street and Wellington Place. Amityville Police were first on scene and reported a fully involved Nissan Maxima, following a collision with a telephone pole. Chief of Department Stephen Juliano arrived on scene and confirmed the fully involved vehicle fire. Upon the arrival of Engine 1-1-2, one hose line was stretched into operation, and the crew established a positive water supply. The fire was quickly knocked down, and no injuries were reported. Units operated under the command of Chief of the Amityville Fire Department, Stephen Juliano [1-1-30].

At approximately 0315 hours on Thursday, June 12th, 2025, the Copiague Fire Department was alerted for a reported house fire with occupants trapped. Upon arrival of multiple Suffolk County First Precinct sector cars, they confirmed active fire and advised of a confirmed occupant trapped. With multiple chiefs en route, Babylon Central Fire Alarm advised them of multiple calls and Suffolk County Police’s report. Additionally, they were notified that there had previously been a barricaded subject with ammunition in the house. Upon arrival of Chief of Department Broyles, he retoned a working fire for fire located in the 2/3 room of the second floor. Engine 1-3-9 was the first responding engine, and upon arrival, they established a positive water supply and stretched at least one handline into operation. The fire was quickly knocked down, and with searches underway of all floors, no occupants were found. Mutual aid consisted of the Lindenhurst Fire Department for the Rapid Intervention Team [LT-1-6-4], the Amityville Fire Department for an engine [E1-1-3], and the North Amityville Fire Company for a ladder and ambulance [L1-7-3, A11-3-20]. There were no reported injuries, and the cause of the fire is under investigation. Units operated under the command of Chief of the Copiague Fire Department, D. Broyles.

At approximately 0120 hours on Friday, May 30th, the East Islip Fire Department was alerted for a possible basement fire on Marilynn Street between Cynthia Lane and Lisa Lane. With all chiefs on the road, additional information given to them via the dispatcher reported a basement fire with smoke and flames visible. Upon arrival of 3-5-31, smoke was showing, and shortly after, a working fire was transmitted. Engine 3-5-3 was the first-due engine, pulled past the fire building to the hydrant, and stretched two lines into operation. Truck 3-5-5 was the first due truck and conducted searches, which were delayed by Collyer’s Mansion conditions. The fire was quickly knocked down, and with all searches negative, crews began overhaul and ventilation. Mutual aid was requested from the Islip Fire Department for an engine, the Central Islip Fire Department for an engine, the Sayville Fire Department for a ladder, the Bay Shore Fire Department for an engine to standby, along with the Brentwood Fire Department with a ladder to standby. Units operated under the command of Chief Scharf [3-5-30], Chief of the East Islip Fire Department. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

At approximately 0225 hrs, on April 5th, 2025 the West Babylon Fire Department was alerted for a Signal 13 for an auto fire in close proximity to a dwelling. While chiefs were en route, Babylon Central Fire Alarm provided additional information that the fire was reportedly started by someone welding. Suffolk County Police assisted with the evacuation of a resident from the dwelling. Upon the arrival of Engine 1-9-6, they stretched an initial handline to extinguish the fire. Engine 1-9-2 stretched an additional handline off of the first due company. The fire was contained to the minivan with no extension to the dwelling. EMS treated one patient on scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation. West Babylon units operated under the command of Chief of the Department Steve Kamalic [1-9-30].

While units were operating at a commercial structure fire at 287 Second Avenue on Sunday, March 9, 2025, crews noticed a second working fire on Second Avenue. Upon arrival, crews had fire showing on the 2-side, extending into the attic. Members removed two occupants from the residence. Brentwood Engine 3-2-1 was the first engine on scene, and three lines were stretched off it. Members from East Islip 3-5-5 performed a VEIS on the second-floor 3/4 window, where an occupant reported someone trapped. Searches in the room were negative. Mutual aid to the scene consisted of the Central Islip Fire Department for the FAST team, the Islip Fire Department for an engine, and the East Islip Fire Department for a truck. Brentwood Legion Ambulance, Bay Shore Brightwaters Ambulance and Community Ambulance provided EMS coverage. One firefighter was treated on scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Units operated under the command of 2nd Assistant Chief Boyle.

At approximately 00:03 hours, the Brentwood Fire Department was alerted to smoke inside a commercial building at 287 Second Avenue, off Broadway. While a sector car was patrolling, they came across the commercial structure and reported a heavy smoke condition inside the pizzeria. Upon the arrival of 3-2-11, they confirmed the smoke condition, and upon making entry, they discovered fire in the ceiling. A working fire was transmitted. Crews stretched multiple handlines and made entry into adjacent businesses. Mutual aid to the scene consisted of the Central Islip Fire Department for the FAST team, the Islip Fire Department for an engine, and the East Islip Fire Department for a truck. Bay Shore Brightwaters and Community Ambulance provided EMS coverage. One firefighter was treated on scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Units operated under the command of 2nd Assistant Chief Boyle.
