First and foremost, congratulations to the Lincoln Southwest boys and the Lincoln North Star girls for winning the Class A State Championships. Keeping it all in the city means so much to these schools and the programs around Lincoln. It just shows that we’re able to compete with the big names up in Omaha and continue to represent our city well.
I had the chance to take some time and capture a few moments during the Lincoln Southwest vs. Omaha westside semifinal game at the 2026 NSAA Boys State Basketball Championships. The atmosphere inside the arena was incredible, and it was great to witness such a big moment for Lincoln basketball.
I’m also posting these photos as a way to challenge myself a little more this year. Photography is something I truly love, especially capturing moments like these. Sports has always been a passion of mine, but I enjoy photographing many different things.
I’ll keep pushing myself to post more and share more of my work. Sometimes it’s hard to have the confidence to show the artistic side of what I do, but every step forward is part of the journey.
My challenge for next year is to take it one step further — to hopefully be down on the floor as one of the photographers capturing these moments up close. I believe Lincoln basketball is only getting stronger, and I wouldn’t be surprised if we see another championship come back to the city next year — maybe on the boys’ side, maybe on the girls’ side… maybe even both.
Just a few moments captured from a great night of Nebraska basketball. 🏀📸
