I’m going to admit this is scary.

This is the next level of Mixed Media presentation of the Custom Artwork I create. Mixed media from the initial creation; After information gathering consultation, Multiple photographs that support my photographic subject are researched and gathered that support a heartwarming meaningful story is composited using Photoshop; The composite file is then Hand Painted in the computer using designed brushes on a Wacom tablet; The painted creation is Printed on high quality archival canvas media using archival pigments and stretched on canvas stretcher bars.

The next level….. After some intense continuing education and in-class practice, “Astro” is ready for me to add acrylic paint and finish it with brush stroked texture gels.

It’ll then be mounted in a canvas float frame and be ready to display!

I chose the winner!

“Newsie” is the title of this Fine Art piece I created from the two images submitted to my call for your special moments!

I chose this submission primarily because of the little boy’s old time outfit. I seriously would have enjoyed creating for the other submissions but I was hit with such a strong image in my imagination I had to choose it!!!

Here we go! It’s time to put it all out there!

My retirement has arrived but it’s more of a transition and I need your help!!

I enjoy sharing these Artistic Renditions of those special moments that people have captured. I’ve been a photographer for 48 years and I know that there’s a difference between professional portraits and special moments that happen outside of a professional portrait session.

My Joy comes from taking those moments and making them a complete story. A story that is for Art Lovers. One you want to see on your wall that brings happiness.

Especially with children and animals!

It’s a CUSTOM story. It’s created after discussion that discovers all the things you love that support and enhance your story. It’s a personal story. It’s meant to be displayed and loved.

This is my retirement. This is my happy place where I transition from photographing a subject in the limited environment available, which I’ve earned my Master Photographer degree, to presenting my subject artistically in a way that otherwise would not exist.

I will be full on presenting this custom service to several venues in the near future and am looking for more fabulous moments!

The featured portrait on this post is of my oldest granddaughter kissing one of our mini horses. This appeared as my Facebook memory not too long ago. It’s a special moment to me because we no longer have the horse and, well, oh my goodness, this snapshot brought back some great memories. But, I knew it could be so much more. Perfect Storytelling Creation.

RIP Isis 💕
She was my brother and sister in law’s dog. She lived a pampered good long life. I created this memorial portrait for them from the two snapshots I highjacked from their page. I really liked Isis’s profile and the hint of my brother’s face inspired me to composite him into her portrait for this painting.

My livestock guard dogs Spalding and Yari! And some of my alpacas. Spalding is nearing the end of his Great Pyrenees normal life span and Yari is now at the age of maturity to carry on guarding the livestock. I’m hoping Spalding continues on for years to come. In the meantime….

In my heart I live where there are picturesque rolling hills behind my expansive pasture. This soon to be painted storytelling composited Art Piece will become an impressive sized wall portrait!

This is my rescue doggie Dora! 29% Siberian Husky, 31% Chihuahua, among other small dog breeds. When I thought about where I might want to feature her in a scenic I decided to bring in the snow for her Husky side and some fall foliage for her chihuahua side (brown eye).
