Getting your picture taken sometimes feel like a lot. You’ve got a million things running through your brain…“How’s my hair? Did we choose the right outfits? Is my son smiling? Please tell me her fingers aren’t in her nose.”

This is what I’m here for. My goal is to make you feel natural and keep you laughing, all while making sure the details come together for a fun and relaxed time together. It’

s my job to set up you up for success and help you feel like the beautiful person you are so that afterwards you feel nothing but joy and excitement for the photos. And you’ll see it when they’re delivered. You’ll see the laughter and silliness and connection and be so grateful you signed up for the session. And yes, you might just have a new bff in me afterwards. So can I tell you about me? I’ve loved photography since I was a lame teenager. Like, mid-2000’s lame teenager. I got my DSLR when I was 14 and went nuts. Fast forward a decade, and I decided to really give this thing a go professionally. I’ve been in business since 2016, and it’s been a dream. I love meeting new clients, building a quick rapport, making you smile, and coming up with jokes that totally crush with your kids so you don’t have to. I also love podcasts, a solidly timed GIF, crying at mountain views, dramatic tv, stand-up comedy specials, driving by myself, oatmilk lattes, knowing too much about the Bach, and singing along to Biebs. I’ve been married for over ten years to my tall bearded wonder, Grant, and we have two wild boys who keep me entertained and well-versed on all things dinos and superheroes. We’re blessed to live in the sprawling western suburbs of Chicago.

The Lammers. My pals. Some of my favorite people in the world.

Captured during one of my favorite 2 weeks of the year (CAN YOU GUESS WHICH ONES?)

I’ll give you a hint: it’s not peak foliage lol.

Truly September and the beginning of October will always and forever be my favorite two weeks to photograph your beautiful family. Completely underrated! Blooms and warmth and those muted, subtle colors just barely poppin’ through.

Love you big, Lammers fam. Thanks for always showing up ready to play and ready to love on your littles.

This suburban lady is happy to be given any excuse to pop into the city. What a beautiful place Chicago is with its life and culture and people and skylines and I could go on. Gosh am I lucky to live so close.

My goal for family sessions this year is to step back + embrace what is.

I’ve had the WILD privilege of photographing the same families year after year. Each time that repeat inquiry pops into my inbox, my brain immediately jumps to “Ok, how can I make this time different than the last?” I’m also going to to be like, “HOLY CRAP I’M SO GLAD THEY WANT TO WORK WITH ME AGAIN!!!!”

But if you’re coming to me year after year, it’s more than just you wanting to repeat the exact photos that you got last year—at least, I sure hope so. My hope is that you want to repeat the feeling and capture the season your family is in right now. And not even the season—the exact moment. And for whatever hair-brained reason, you’re trusting me again and again to capture it.

So, gosh, I treasure your belief in me, and I work with intention every time we’re together. This year, that intention looks like incorporating prompts and cultivating connection between you and your best people.

It looks like me taking a step backward so that you and your people can take a step toward one another.

And I’m just happy to have my camera in hand to capture it all 🩵

I would be remiss if I didn’t grace my feed with a permanent post of Mrs. Audrey Gabriele—a gem, a knockout, a comedic legend, a SWIFTIE—on the same day that our bff and yours posted her engagement. Audrey, who married—you guessed it—her childhood bud and became a real life Mary’s song. Oh my, my, my.

Y’all, this June night was sparkling and Trevor looked at Audrey like the stars that shine in the sky, the pretty lights. And while the decor may have had some black and white, the love was golden.

So the question must be asked if Audrey or is the great mastermind by having two such monumental events happen within mere months of one another. It’s like she knew the entire time.

If you’ve ever done a newborn session with me, you know I’m a sucker for an outdoor or a front porch moment. So, naturally, I forced the Foltz outside on the hot summer morning as we celebrated their sweet Peter joining the fold.

I’m obsessed with basically all of my families (sorry not sorry), but when your oldest is my birthday buddy AND mom shares my name, you’re bound to be a fast favorite ☺️

What a joy Peter is already. Lots of love to you, Foltz fam 🤍🤍

It’s Sarah + Daniel’s day!!!!!

A couple full of love and a story overflowing with God’s goodness, redemption, and care for the little things. And gosh are they funny—Sarah with her contagious smile and warmth, Daniel with his epic one-liners that have caught me off guard in every stage of this process. I anticipate laughing ALL THE DING D**G DAY!!!!

Feel full of joy and excitement for today. Can’t wait to celebrate with you two!!!
