Widow Skimmer

Fun facts: Male Widow Skimmers leave the female alone while she lays her eggs, making her a “Widow” in the process.

Fun facts: The Twelve Spotted Skimmer is a very common North American dragonfly, but you can also find them in southern Canada.
They get their name from the three brown spots on their wings.

Who was Russel “Russowl” ?

Russ was a wildlife photographer, he loved everything about nature but especially loved his birds. Him and his wife Janice Reynolds loved to drive around and go bird watching.

In 2010 he decided to submit a photo into the wildlife legacy stamp contest and won! He won with a photo of a baltimore oriole. 

Russ also loved his family with all his heart, he would take them to go bird watching, fishing, trips to Amish Country in Indiana, and so much more. He was a very caring person and was always their when you needed someone to talk too.

Sadly, Russ passed away July 28, 2023. So I made this page dedicated to his photography and his brand “focus upon nature”.
