A note from Tiffani: My passion for photography revolves around what I like to call the “Pheel of PhotographyTM”. For me, photography is a

bout sharing a feeling, it is about allowing other people to not only see, but to feel, what a moment represented in a way that allows them to interpret how they would feel in that same moment. There are millions of photos out there, but the truly special shots transport the viewer to a different time and place. To me, that is special and should be shared whenever possible. My art focuses on capturing, rather than creating a moment, therefore I love to focus on the artistic views and fleeting moments rather than on the posed. A locking of eyes with a wild animal, that moment when a rainbow mysteriously appears in the sky, or simply looking at an oft-seen setting in a special way; this is the ““Pheel of PhotographyTM”. My hope is that these photos transport each of you to those amazing moments. As an Amazon Affiliate, I earn from qualifying purchases at no added expense to you.

What began as a temporary pause has become a longer focus on health and healing.

I’ve made the decision to step away from Tiffani Photography and sunset the business, including the website and sales.

I discontinued working or taking on photography clients last March and will not be able to resume.

Thank you for the support over the years. I’m incredibly grateful.

I may still share moments of beauty here from time to time, just personally.

You may have noticed we haven’t posted in a couple of weeks. Tiffani is experiencing a flare-up of chronic medical conditions and is limiting screen time while she heals.

We look forward to sharing with you again—hopefully in a month or two. Until then, we keep looking for the beauty in life.

This Cristate (crested) saguaro cactus looks like it arrived in a UFO and stayed just to pose for portraits.

Crested (or cristate) saguaros are incredibly rare mutations — only about 1 in 10,000 develop this unusual fan-shaped growth. Scientists aren’t exactly sure why it happens: it could be damage, frost, or genetics, but each one becomes a desert sculpture with a personality all its own.

Tips for shooting in harsh sunlight:

Embrace it! Use backlight to create drama — shoot toward the sun and let it rim the cactus in light.

Spot meter off the highlights, then adjust shadows in post.

If the colors feel blown out or chaotic, try a monochrome conversion. Bright desert light often gives you stunning detail and contrast in black and white.

Every crested saguaro feels like a desert secret revealed. Have you ever seen one?

One of the wildest drives we’ve ever done — all the way to the bottom of the Grand Canyon in our Bronco.
Yes, to the actual banks of the Colorado River.
Yes, in the winter.
And yes, we were the only ones there.

This isn’t the popular South Rim or a crowded overlook. It’s on Hualapai tribal land, via the rugged 20-mile Diamond Creek Road, the only road that actually reaches the Colorado River within the Grand Canyon. You’ll need a permit from the Hualapai Tribe (available in Peach Springs, AZ), and a high-clearance 4x4 vehicle. This road is remote, steep, rocky, often washed out — and absolutely epic.

A few tips if you go:
• Check weather and road conditions before you go.
• Bring cash for the permit (we paid around $25/person + vehicle fee).
• No cell service — download maps and let someone know your plans.
• Expect to cross the creek multiple times — yes, you may get wet.
• Pack out everything — this land is sacred and pristine.

This was a once-in-a-lifetime kind of day, and we’ll never forget the sound of the river with no one else in sight.

We’ll post some of the wild drive footage soon — stay tuned.

Driving Into Death Valley via Panamint Springs

🎥 The road to great photography isn’t always easy… and sometimes, it’s a little scary!

🚐 Driving into Death Valley from the west entrance near Panamint Springs in our motorhome was absolutely stunning—but also a bit nerve-wracking! Some steep grades, winding roads, and no cell service make this an adventure all on its own.

🌵 If you're planning to visit Death Valley, here’s what you need to know:

🏕 Camping Options:
• Furnace Creek Campground (Reservations, full hookups available)
• Stovepipe Wells Campground (First-come, first-served, near Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes)
• Texas Springs Campground (No generators allowed, great views)
• Mesquite Spring Campground (Quieter, further north)
• Panamint Springs Resort (Privately run, has some amenities)

📵 No Cell Service in most of the park! Download maps and let someone know your plans before entering.

📸 Must-See Photo Locations:
📍 Zabriskie Point – Best at sunrise for golden badlands.
📍 Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes – Beautiful textures, especially in early morning light.
📍 Badwater Basin – The lowest point in North America, surreal salt flats.
📍 Dante’s View – A panoramic view over the entire valley.
📍 The Racetrack Playa – If you can handle the rough road, this is where rocks mysteriously move across the desert floor!

🔥 Would you drive an RV into Death Valley? Drop a 🚐 or 😳 in the comments!

📍 Skull Rock, Joshua Tree National Park, California

Nature’s artistry is everywhere in Joshua Tree, but Skull Rock is one of its most iconic sculptures. Shaped over millennia by wind and water, this eerie rock formation looks just like a skull staring back at you. Best of all? It’s just off the main road, making it an easy stop for any visitor.

📷 Photo Tip: For a dramatic shot, visit during golden hour when the warm light enhances the rock’s texture and casts haunting shadows in the eye sockets. A wide-angle lens can help capture the rock’s full form while including the surrounding desert landscape for context.
