Proud to announce the release of Picturing Pandemic, a 60 page publication illustrating the effects of COVID-19 in Lexington, NC. Each “zine” is $20 with all profits going to Pastor’s Pantry in Lexington. Images were captured using a variety of modern and digital cameras. A special “thank you” to for the inspiration and motivation.

Fall begins in the Carolinas. A break in unexpected weather allowed a side trip to Elk River Falls late this past Sunday. At the precipice I found a solitary leaf announcing the arrival of fall. EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM at 165mm, f/11, 1/6sec ISO 320, B+W F-Pro CPL, Tripod. 7 image focus stack. LR, PS, and ON1.

Not all waterfalls are photogenic enough for a full image. Silvervale Falls is a great example, especially at the moment since a large tree has just fallen across near the base. Even so, there’s usually something worth capturing, however small. This 10’ section is at the base.

The weather yesterday was absolutely miserable, which means it was perfect for photography. We had this waterfall all to ourselves for three hours. Admittedly, we were chasing an image that has long sense disappeared, but the lure of possibility was simply too great. I so appreciate the weather sealing of my equipment and bag, because we got soaked!
