"I brought the mirror because I saw a photo of a Sikh man in London holding one with a slogan about the riots, but it gave me inspiration to ask a deeper question: who are you? By framing the question around an image that only the subject I'm directing it to can see, I wanted to force an introspection into their own principles and image of who they want to be, police and protester alike. This movement matters because the idea of this country was founded on equality and justice, and freedom from tyranny. No person should fear for their lives because of their appearance, and I want to fight now so others won't have to."
