I don't know the name of this variety of Iris, but whatever it is, I'm renaming it...

The Unity Iris.

May this veil of madness covering the world fall back so that we might remember that no matter our race, our spirituality, our gender, our sexuality... every single one of us bleed the same color. And our world is definitely bleeding right now.

Love each other and take care of each other, my fellow humans.

It is our only hope.

Namasté,

Humanity really should look to the bees.

"In the village, a sage should go about
Like a bee, which, not harming
Flower, colour or scent,
Flies off with the nectar."

As the decline of the bee population continues, the much maligned wasp is poised in the wings as the New Bee of 2025. If you haven’t heard about Wasp Lives Matter, well… it’s because I just coined it.

We love to romanticize bees - but what about the wasps? In this post, I’m challenging the stigma and making a heartfelt case for the unsung heroes of the pollination world. Yes, they might be a little spicier in temperament, but wasps play a massive role in both pollination and pest control, contributing over $600 billion to our economy each year. And if you’ve ever cursed a spider in your home - thank a wasp for keeping them in check. This moment between two wasps reminded me how much magic is hiding in plain sight… if we’re willing to look.

MOTHERHOOD

Last night I was finally given a spectacular sunset against the heart of Kentucky - the horses it is famed for.

I feel complete now. :)

My three loves - writing, photography and pontificating on life's lessons all decided to play together for this one. Found my first macro attempts while re-homing an old, old blog and it was a trip down memory lane to see where I was when I started this macro journey and where I am now, so many years later.

I hope you enjoy!

(And if you've always wanted to start something but have buried that passion in the back of a drawer for someday, let this be your sign... there's never any time but the present!)

Almost exactly 13 years ago I wrote a blog post chronicling the re-emergence of an old passion, after gifting myself a new Canon digital camera to replace my old 35mm which had long since passed into the realm Where Broken Things Go.   I also gifted myself a new macro lens to explore a form of pho...

Spring was in the air today, the last of the snow completely melted, and with it came the promise of new beautiful little things to capture.

So I'll give a nod to the last blooms of this past Autumn and wait with anticipation for the wonders to come.

There was a hint of Spring in the air the other day and my spirit itched to do something creative, so I plundered some of the many photos I have that are sitting patiently, waiting to be processed and loved into being again.

In anticipation of Spring. Namaste 🙏
