When I met Lindsay 3 years ago I never would have guessed we’d become best friends and I’d get to take her engagement photos, maternity photos for baby number 1, and now family/maternity photos for baby number 2. 🥲

This photo doesn’t look like a much, just a horse standing in a field, but this moment actually felt quite profound.

Mithras is part of the wild mustang herd at Project ComeBack. He once lived in the wild before he was rounded up, taken from his homeland, and separated from his family only to be adopted and ultimately end up in a kill pen several years ago before being rescued by Project ComeBack.

Today we were able to give Mithras and his whole herd a new pasture to explore with a pond to help cool off in this summer heat and I took this photo as they were taking their first steps in their new space. Mithras with his head held high taking it all in, you could just feel the peacefulness emanating from him. He knows he’s in a place where he is safe and loved. His needs are being met and he can just be.

This is why we do what we do. I’m endlessly grateful to get to be part of it.
