At OKC Vet Campus, we know that exceptional veterinary care extends beyond the exam room.

We’re asking for your support in nominating Dr. Carlton for the 2026 ANIMAL Conference Veterinarian Award, which recognizes veterinarians who expand access to care, support education, and advocate for animal wellbeing across Oklahoma.

Through partnerships with local rescue organizations, Dr. Carlton helps provide interstate health certificates, access to low-cost spay and neuter services, and wellness care that helps adoptable pets find loving homes. She is also committed to community education, offering events focused on pet first aid, emergency preparedness, and life-saving response skills for pet owners.

Her dedication to pets, their families, rescue organizations, and our community reflects the very values this award was created to recognize.

One of my favorite things about cluster events is getting to meet breeds you don't see every day. My favorite of the weekend? A Stabyhoun named Pickett!

Just for fun:

• Only about 6,000 Stabyhouns exist worldwide
• Just around 300 live in the United States
• Originated in Friesland, Netherlands, as an all-purpose farm and hunting dog
• Their name roughly translates to "Stand By Me Dog"

I'd never seen one in person before, and Pickett definitely made me a fan.
