Apologies to my social media feed for interrupting your regularly scheduled programming with this level of stunning.

I’ll give you a moment.

Erin absolutely understood the assignment.

The pose.
The hair.
The stare.
That undeniable confidence.

Honestly, I’m sorry.
But also… I’m not.

Sometimes a portrait deserves to stop the scroll. This is one of those times.

Pageant headshots are more important than people realize.

That image is going directly into the hands of the judges. It’s one of the first impressions they have of you before you ever step on stage.

So why settle for a basic headshot?

Your image should capture your confidence, your personality, and the woman behind the title.

Because your headshot should make them want to see more.

I swear I was 27 like... last Tuesday.

Now I'm out here making weird little noises every time I stand up.
Getting excited when I cancel plans.
And wondering why every restaurant suddenly feel insanely loud.

But here's what's interesting.
I don't think getting older is the hard part.

I think it's realizing we've spent every decade wishing we looked like the last one.

At 35, we miss 25.
At 45, we miss 35.
At 55... you get the idea.

What if we just stopped doing that?

What if this was the decade we finally looked around and thought...

Well s**t, I'm actually a badass.

Look at everything I've survived.
Look at everything I've built.
Look at the woman I've become.

Maybe getting older isn't something to fight.
Maybe it's something to be damn proud of.

Can we all agree that moms are usually the family historians?

We remember to charge the camera.
Take the first day of school pictures.
Document every birthday.
Every vacation.
Every missing tooth.
Every random Tuesday that somehow ends up being adorable.

Meanwhile...

We're over here dodging the camera and hiding behind others during the group shot.

Here's the thing...

One day, your kids aren't going to care what size jeans you wore.

They're going to want to remember the details of YOU.
The way your eyes crinkled when you laughed.
The smile they saw every day.
The version of you that made their childhood feel like home.

So just a suggestion...

Stop waiting to become someone worth photographing.

This version of you is already part of their favorite memories.

I don't think it's selfish to do something for yourself.
I think it's necessary.

But, I think we've just gotten really good at convincing ourselves that it is.

We'll spend money on our kids.
We'll spend money on the house.
We'll buy the team snacks.
We'll sign everyone up for the activities.
We'll even remember the dog's vet appointment.

But when it comes to us?
Welp, maybe next time!

Girl... STOP!

Book the session.
Enjoy the spotlight.
Dance in the studio.
Embrace the fan.
Laugh your ass off.

You don't walk away with just beautiful portraits.
You walk away remembering who the heck you are.

And honestly?
I think every woman deserves that.

Here's what one client had to say about this experience:

"I was so excited for my photoshoot with Andrea. I practiced poses in the mirror and was so pumped for a hot profile pic at the end of the day. However, I left there with a new found confidence that I did not know I had. This experience truly awakened something in me and I feel like it couldn’t have happened at a more perfect times. As moms, we always make sure the family pics are taken and that there are pics of everyone else. But what about us? This experience was amazing because it was a guilt free chance to be the center of attention for a few hours. So if you’re curious or can’t decide if it’s worth the investment trust me it is. You aren’t just getting amazing picture you’re getting a complete transformative experience. Literally one of the most fun days of my life!!! Andrea is truly an artist and a master of her trade."

Had the BEST time last night on our Lewiston Photowalk!

A big thank you to little Miss Jojo for being our model for the evening.

Girl, you’re such a natural. ❤️

Both students started with a two hour Beginner Photography Class (can be done virtually or in-person), where we covered the basics of their personal cameras, lens selection, and all the power behind Manual Mode.

We talked about the great balancing act of the exposure triangle, utilizing natural light, light direction, and creative composition.

Then, weeks later, we came together for our Photowalk in Lewiston.

We worked in tandem, photographing our model in all different lighting scenarios and putting everything they learned into practice.

And, as expected I did lots of encouraging to be a WEIRD photographer.

Get way down low for a unique angle.
Move around.
Try something unexpected.
Hide behind some plants.

That last one was my personal fave. 😂

The weirder you get, the better!
That’s my pro tip for any aspiring photographer.

Thank you, Christal & Saleh, for joining me last night. I absolutely loved chasing the light with you both!

If you have a camera collecting dust and want to actually learn how to use it, book a call.

I’d love to help you get out of Auto Mode and start creating images you’re really proud of.

Here’s some s**t most entrepreneurs won’t admit...

This social media game is soul sucking.

We don’t want to post daily.
We don’t want to constantly be creating content.
We don’t want to spend our limited hours making reels.
We don’t want to chase eye catching trends.
We don’t want to be intentionally controversial for interaction.
We don’t want to obsess over insights.
We don’t want to learn SEO.
We don’t want to become Canva experts.
We don’t want to batch two weeks of posts into Meta.

We just want to do what we love.

We want real conversations.
With real people.
Face to face.

We want to serve people.
Help solve a problem.
Create something meaningful.
Then go home knowing we made a difference.

Instead, after pouring hours into content, you hit Post...
..and a handful of people see it because a multi-billion-dollar company decided your reach should be limited unless you pay to be seen.

Yeah.

It’s definitely not my favorite part of running a business.

I’d love to believe it’ll get better.

But if I’m being realistic...
(Then along comes... Debbie Downer)

It’s probably only going to get harder.

So here’s your reminder: if there’s a small business you love, engage with them. Like. Comment. Share. Save.

It costs you nothing.

But it means everything to the person behind the screen.

I know it's hard to invest in yourself.

I get it.
It feels selfish.

Especially when you're raising school-aged kids, juggling work, packing lunches, running to practices, answering emails, folding laundry, and somehow trying to remember who *you* are underneath it all.

But girl...

The years we're in the trenches are the years we need the reminder the most.

The reminder that we're more than the carpool driver.
More than the workout clothes.
More than the never-ending to-do list.
More than the woman making sure everyone else is taken care of.

We're still in there.

Strong.
Capable.
Resilient.
Beautiful.

Believe me when I say a photoshoot like this changes something inside of you.
I know because I did it for myself not too long ago.

And every time I look back at those images, I'm reminded of my strength.

My resilience.
My tenacity.
The woman who kept showing up, even when life felt heavy.

Those photographs don't remind me of what I looked like.
They remind me of who I was.

And that's a gift every woman deserves to give herself.

Meet Kamerin 🤍

The woman behind the hair, the makeup, the laughs, and about 90% of the "Okay... I'm actually starting to feel excited!" moments.

She doesn't just make my clients look beautiful...

She has this incredible way of making them FEEL beautiful.

She's warm.
She's funny.
She's welcoming.

And she has a gift for calming those first-day nerves before we ever pick up a camera.

The truth is, she's a huge part of why this experience feels the way it does.

Her talent is undeniable, but what I love most is her heart.

She genuinely loves seeing women win. She celebrates every transformation right alongside me, and she pours so much care into every woman who sits in her chair.

I honestly don't know how I got so lucky.

So today, let's show Kamerin some love for sharing her incredible talent with my clients and for helping every woman see the beauty that was already there all along. 🤍
