We love because He first loved us. 1 John 4:19
We’re taught that love is the greatest gift God gave us, and we’re given parables and passages to make it stick.
My personal favorite is the shepherd who leaves the 99 to find the 1.
We often imagine being the 1, and rightly so. How cherished we are to be pursued beyond what the world tells us is reasonable.
Now, imagine being the shepherd. Loving each other so deeply that even amongst noise and multitude, we see the 1 go astray and go after them.
If we are truly called to love above all else, and love each other as God calls us and Jesus taught us, it must be fervent, unyielding, and without prejudice.
