🦌🦌LOCKDOWN🦌🦌

The Big Boys are locked down with the Doe’s…Not much you can do but be Patient. Smaller bucks are cruisin trying to find one as well the last couple days.

October 24 through November 1st is usually the gap I encounter those Stud bucks. Let me tell ya I had a couple wild encounters this year and just couldn’t seal the deal. But don’t get it twisted the Greatest part of the RUT is straight ahead folks. The most exciting part yet. As soon as they are done breeding the first couple doe they are off to the races again to find the next victim….. That’s when things really heat up. The fighting, the hard chasing, and the unknown Buck who appeared last night while chasing doe’s. It’s the Greatest time of year for a deer Hunter.

Next week should be fire after the rain!!! 🔥🔥🦌🦌🦌

There’s just something about the RUT…. It either gets you jacked up or it just wears you down.

I had the privilege of watching this little dude nap it out by me the other morning. He was tired. About an hour and he got up and was on his way.

These kinds of moments I cherish. It’s not too often you get
to witness a Buck or deer in general actually close its eyes and nap. I just sat there and watched him. He felt safe enough to nap which means he never knew I was there. Mission accomplished. These are the moments that keep me coming back. It’s more than the KILL for me….

I took this Doe last week as she was one of the lucky ones to come in all alone. She didn’t go 40. Was a well placed shot quartering away almost walking away. Beautiful doe… I’ll take it

Nice encounter with one of the Basket 8’s… Doing exactly what he should be doing. Checking scrapes. Gonna heat up next week with the cold front coming. He will be a good one in a few more years. Until than….. go cause some chaos dude!

The perfect combo right now! Little bit of doe p*e and dominant buck p**s in the scrape…… it’s the perfect set up to bring him in. Pre orbital of course on the vine/rope or maybe just some branches…

After next week or maybe even Halloween I will switch to estrus scents!

The doe p*e will bring him back until it’s estrus and than game on! Don’t overthink this time of year.

Great Genetics for a 2 yr old. One can only hope he makes it a couple more years and gets a little bit smarter. Was a fun encounter.
