This may have been four days ago now, but it still feels like a blur. Leading up to Saturday, I’ve had mixed emotions as while seeing the world’s largest operating steam locomotive come to my neck of the woods is exciting, a piece of me would never be around to take it in.

Isaac was a fan of trains, especially the Union Pacific Big Boy locomotives. He has a small scale model of a Big Boy and some coaches among his possessions and when he found out that Engine 4014 was being restored to operate, he was excited and talked about going out west to see it one day. Sadly, he would leave this world in September of 2022 and the void he left behind was felt in a lot of ways. When Big Boy 4014 rolled into Continental, I briefly lost myself among the cheers accompanying the engine’s whistle.

I know for sure that Isaac would be all over that engine if he were still here and would want to be in Fostoria when it comes back in July. That’s the part that hurts the most. Though I know he had a bird’s eye view from the heavens, I would give anything to see his excitement over this.

This is a Topaz AI appreciation post as I’ve been playing with it a bit lately. While it’s among the best with editing raw photos, sharpening JPEGs isn’t all too shabby as I didn’t switch to shooting raw plus JPEG until July two years ago. Can you spot the sharpened details in both photos here?

Hello everyone,

I am saddened to say that the fair minis will not be happening as a fair board member reached out and advised me not to do them. So out of respect to the board member, I have taken down my post.

While I am bummed that jumpstarting my business isn’t going to happen this way, it doesn’t mean that it never will in general. There are other opportunities for booking throughout the month and summer and it all starts with you. I will continue to share my photos with you and my books will stay open for future clients.

I will close this by saying that I’m not looking for sympathy as this is a bump in the road. Things like this will surely happen, and I will continue on regardless. Thank you for your attention and support on this matter. ❤️
