One of the unexpected joys of being a photographer is getting to photograph the people who become part of your family’s story!
When Avary left for college, I prayed she’d find good friends, people who would encourage her, cheer her on, and make a big campus feel a little more like home. Kelsey has been one of those people. 🤍 So when she reached out about branding photos for her own photography business, I was all in!
What I loved most about this session was that Kelsey came in with a clear vision for her brand while also trusting the creative process.
That’s always the sweet spot!
I’m excited to watch her business grow and can’t wait to see where this journey takes her.

April marked 16 years of Misty Rodda Photography.

What started as a dream has become the way I’ve helped support my family, pay for extracurriculars, vacations, Christmas presents, college tuition, and all the little things that make up a life!

But the best part has always been the people. Thank you for trusting me with your stories, your milestones, and your memories. I never imagined I’d get to do this for 16 years, and I’m so grateful that I have. 🥹

I have never seen a couple cry so many happy tears. 🤍

There was something especially sweet about watching Matt and Angela together on Saturday. Every glance, smile and tear seemed to reflect the same thing: gratitude.
Gratitude for finding each other. Gratitude for the people gathered around them. Gratitude for the chance to begin this next chapter together!
Matt’s sister shared that he knew he had found something special in Angela and wasn’t about to let her get away. After spending the day with these two, it was easy to see that feeling goes both ways!
What a beautiful day for two people who clearly treasure one another. Congrats Mr and Mrs Faulkner! ✨

Nearly a decade ago, I met Kathryn while photographing her sister Annie’s wedding, and last weekend we traveled to Pittsburgh to capture hers. 🤍

I’ve had the joy of photographing so many milestones for this family over the years, so I knew this day would be special. And it truly was! Relaxed, joyful, full of love, nieces and nephews tearing up the dance floor, and the perfect weather after a rainy morning at Fox Chapel Golf Club.

After years of building a relationship through a pandemic, careers and traveling the world together, Kathryn + Max celebrated surrounded by people who clearly adore them. What a gift to witness. ✨ More of this love story to come!

Getting your photo taken is VULNERABLE!

I was reminded of this yesterday as I met up with a group of my photographer buds to exchange headshots. These are all supportive, talented women, who I know want the best for me, and yet my anxiety was SKY HIGH. On the drive over the thought hit me "what if I didn't even know the person taking my photos....how much worse would that be?" 😬

And so that's really the purpose of this corner of social media - a place where you can get to know me, so that when you are vulnerable enough to get your photos taken, you'll be sure, not just that you like my work, but that you like me. And if you don't, that's ok...there's someone out there for you! 😉 ✌🏼
