Beneath the Milky Way, a quiet valley in the mountains rests under the milky way. A layer of fog settles in the valley as the Milky Way emerges over the barn and a lone elk pauses in the frame just long enough for me to make one exposure.

What do you feel when you look up at a night sky like this?

Quick fall reminder: clearing one shelf or one wall now makes the whole house easier to decorate once the holidays actually hit. What are you making room for this year?

Would "Frost-Kissed Fox" make a good holiday conversation piece?

For centuries, bison shaped the grasslands of the Great Plains. Their story came close to ending—but their future is still being written.
Through December 18, I’m donating 20% of proceeds from bison-related photographs and merchandise to support the National Buffalo Foundation. Prints, sweatshirts, tees, mugs, and totes make meaningful gifts for anyone who loves bison and the Great Plains.
Let’s ensure their future. Visit my website through the link in bio, and like, follow, share, and repost to help this story travel. 🦬🌾💚

A quick interior note for the season: don't forget warmer textiles this month, like wool throws, wood tones, deeper colors, and striking monochromes.

What's your favorite fall item to display, or decor tip you live by?

Would "Great Blue Heron #1" fit your style?

Fog changed everything.

As the sun rose, I watched the meadow soften until the lone tree nearly disappeared, then the elk came through—antlers first, the rest of him taking shape a moment later. I chose to photograph this quiet passage because the muted light leaves room to notice how much can be said with so little.

For a moment, the morning seemed to hold still.

In Elk in the Misty Meadow, I wanted to keep that sense of pause: the elk moving across the open field, the tree receding into fog, and the gentle shift between what is visible and what fades away. It brings a subtle note of open-country wilderness to a living room, study, or entryway.

This is it, the final day of the Fall Collector Event. Thank you for making this such a success!

A story of survival is still unfolding across the Great Plains.
Bison shaped these grasslands for centuries, and their future is still being written.
Download “Tatanka - Back From The Brink “ to learn more about their history. 100% of the proceeds from the digital download will go to support the National Buffalo Foundation. Through December 18th I’m also donating 20% to the proceeds from all bison related prints and merchandise.
