A NOTE FROM JULIA:
After 33 years behind the camera in the Kansas City area, I'm moving out of state and preparing to let go of my old film archives. These aren't just negatives. They're original portraits, baby photos, senior portraits and holiday cards. Entire family stories on film. Instead of throwing them away, I want to offer them back to the families they belong to. For many, these are often treasures that become more valuable now than they were when they were originally photographed.

If I photographed you over the years and you'd like your negatives, here's how it works.
Just reply to this email and let me know the approximate year of your photo shoot(s).
Tell me which ones you would like (if you do not want them all), and I will send them to you or you can pick them up.

Archive pricing:
1 session — $75
2–4 sessions — $150 total
5–7 sessions — $200 total
8 or more sessions — $250 total

Postage will be charged for all packages.

Since I have printed these photographs for so many years in my darkroom, I am still happy to make prints for you in the future. You can continue to send me your negatives and have me make prints for you.

After 33 years of carefully preserving these memories, I would much rather see them returned to the families they belong to than have them discarded.

This is not the end of Julia Shapiro Photography + Art! I will continue taking both digital and medium format film photographs, but I will be doing that in Beaufort, SC and surroundings!

I will still be visiting KC often and will share with you when I will be here should you need more photos! I would welcome you to get in touch should you need photos taken on vacation along the SC and NC coasts. We will be a short distance from the beaches of Hilton Head, SC as well as several coastal islands in the south. Please keep in touch and feel free to recommend me as a photographer to others!

Since I do not have accurate emails for all of my clients, I would appreciate it if you could spread the word to your acquaintances who I have photographed through the years.

Thank you for trusting me to photograph your families all these years. It has truly been an honor.
