For the first post of 2023, I’m sharing one of the most memorable shots I took in 2022: a school of hundreds of mobula rays swimming directly underneath me (PS: at least 7 of the mobulas in this picture are pregnant! A trained eye can spot the bulging bodies). The ocean continues to give me endless happiness and fascination!
Hope 2023 will be filled with even more happiness, adventures and nourishment for everyone!
Shout out to and for teaching me how to take and process this shot (it was super cool to learn from pro photographers!), and for dragging me on this adventure.

Hello from To***co Caye, Belize! And that fish will be our dinner. 🐟
I was just on a 3D2N sailing trip where we island hopped across the cayes with . This is my first solo trip since the end of my sabbatical in June 2019, I didn’t realize how much I needed it!
I just finished reading Between Two Kingdom by during this trip. I checked out her Instagram, and found out that she’s starting a 100-Day Project starting today. Tbh knowing me, I don’t know if I’ll post every day, but at least here’s Day 1.

Zion and Bryce Canyon are supposed to have really dark skies and hence, amazing stargazing. So we woke up really early and went to Sunrise point at 4.30am to stargaze. Unfortunately, we still didn’t see the Milky Way - maybe because it was too close to sunrise and the light wasn’t as dark anymore?? But as a consolation prize, we got to watch this beautiful sunrise among the hoodoos!
PS: there are at least 4 places to watch sunrise from, and we think that sunrise would’ve been even better from Inspiration Point. Next time!

After a long slump, finally I feel inspired to take photos again during our trip to the Southwest! This is the Grand Canyon on the South Kaibab trail at about 9am in the morning. Love the orange hues against the blue sky! I’ll post another picture that shows how different it looked two hours later…

It’s no secret that I love flowers, so I was really pleased to get such beautiful fresh bouquet for our ceremony. Look at the cheery colors! This is not an ad. 😂

Happy Five-year anniversary chou!!! You’re better than any guy I ever dreamed of. 🤪😂🤣 Seriously though, I’m grateful for all the fabulous, freeing, far-flung, funny, fearless adventures big and small. Te amo mucho!!!

I’m so, so lucky to live within a couple hours drive to not one, not two, but THREE gorgeous national parks. This was taken in the North Cascades. It was my first time there, and definitely will be coming back!!
We did the Maple Loop Pass to see the larches. To avoid the massive crowd, we drove over the night before and car-camped at the trailhead. I really really love our campervan (that built from scratch) - it’s coming in super handy for our adventures in the middle of the pandemic.
