That is what I am always aiming for. Not just a nice photo. A portrait that your kids will look at someday and say, "I remember when Mom had us in her belly."

What the day looks like before a newborn session.

I preheat the studio until it is warm enough for a sleeping baby. I set out the wraps, props, and backdrop options. I check the lighting until it is exactly right.

Then I set aside 2 to 4 hours and let your baby run the whole show.

Newborn photography done well is not fast. It is not a rushed 45-minute shoot. It is an experience that unfolds at your baby's pace, with a photographer who has done this hundreds of times and loves every single session.

If you are pregnant and have not yet reserved your newborn session, do not wait. I only take a limited number each week, and spots fill up.

I have a few bump-to-baby dates still open for summer babies.

If your due date is between July and September, now is the time to lock in your maternity session so we can hold your newborn date alongside it.

The bump-to-baby package is the most complete way to document this chapter. Maternity photos from weeks 28 to 34. Newborn portraits in your baby's first two weeks. One photographer who knows your family for both.

Something that never gets old: being the photographer a family keeps coming back to.

The family sessions every couple of years as the kids get taller and the house gets louder and more wonderful.

I am at a point in my career where I am photographing children I first held as newborns. That does something to your heart that is genuinely hard to put into words.

A baby-led session is slower. And that is exactly the point.

When I say every session is baby-led, I mean the entire pace of the shoot adjusts to your newborn. We are never racing. We are never forcing a pose that your baby resists. We pause, warm, cuddle, feed, and try again.

This is how I have always worked, and it is why my newborn sessions produce portraits that look peaceful, because they were.

Parents who come in nervous always leave telling me it was calmer than they expected. That is not an accident. That is the process.
