Dunken | 01.25.2025🩵
Guys this is going to be a long one.. but man is it worth it.🥺
I woke up on Saturday morning and found a post in my local photographer’s group, an emergency session was needed for their friend whose dog was in liver failure and was set to cross the rainbow bridge later that day.
Anyone who knows me knows animals will always have a HUGE place in my heart so, of course, I immediately reached out. Within just a few moments I received a very grateful text message from Casey, Dunken’s momma.
We chatted about Dunken for a few and she sent me the cutest photo of him on his bed with a fuzzy blue and cream jacket. I was both so excited and very nervous to meet him. I don’t do many end of life pet sessions but when I do they way super heavy on my heart as this is every pet owners worst day and something I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemies.
Sweet Dunken was 16 years young and slept right next to his mama every. single. night. And when his momma had to be at work he spent his time getting spoiled by his grandma and grandpa. Eating corn with the deer and snuggling up in whichever dog bed he preferred. (Grandma & Grandpa made sure there was one for him in every room)
During the session we browsed around the back yard (his favorite place to be) where he liked to hang with the deer. Got TONS of cuddles and loves from mom and grandma. Oh and some of his favorite snacks from grandpa and grandpa ONLY. We ended our time outside with a handful of corn and a few more much needed hugs from momma before heading back inside to do pawprints and of course, more treats from grandpa.
What an honor and a great privilege it is to get to photograph such beautiful and important moments.
End of life sessions are always and will always be completely complimentary and always includes all your images back. 🤍
