Can you believe we have bluebonnets popping up and it's only March 3rd?! Seeing those beautiful flowers is bitter sweet for me because as much as I love them, they remind me that it is decision time for spring photo sessions. My personal journey of growth has taken an exciting turn, as I accepted a full-time internship a month ago that gets me one step closer to completing my GIS certificate. This is bad news for my Pryor Designs fans, though. This new venture has taken some major adjusting, to say the least, for everyone involved. Being that our time is so precious now, weekends are reserved for family time. So, Pryor Designs Photography is officially taking a leave of absence until further notice. I love all my families and will miss them, but it's time for me to focus on this new path God has sent me on. Here's to everyone following their dreams!!! Go get 'em!

Ahhhh...cooler weather is close, I can feel it :) Cooler weather leads to my favorite kind of pictures - family fall pictures. I love seeing all my "families" and meeting new ones as well. I love the outfit choices, the beautiful locations, and all the smiles and laughter that go along with all that. I love how excited my pictures make people and I love receiving Christmas cards with pictures I took - it really makes my heart happy :)

With all that being said, I have had to make the very hard, much-contemplated decision to NOT do fall pictures this year. Last year I tried to do too much in too little time. I was so busy with pictures, school, and family, that I feel like I missed out on my favorite three months of the year. My family did not get the "me" they deserve, and I can't let that happen again. So after much praying, I feel this is the right thing to do. I have let a lot of things go in order to have a more relaxed attitude and open calendar, so I am ready to sit back and enjoy the ride of the holidays :)

My advice to anyone who struggles with an overwhelming schedule and has a hard time saying "no", remember this: Just because you CAN do it doesn't mean you HAVE to do it. Pick only the things that are most important and leave room to breathe...God will take care of everything :)

Prepare yourself - this one is a little long, but I am overwhelmed with emotion today...

Anyone who thinks photographers are just people you hire to take pictures of your family - you are dead wrong. As a photographer, I truly create a bond with my clients and they become friends. I watch their families/children grow year after year from behind the lens.

This family is no exception - they are the most amazing family, full of such love and strength. My first time photographing this couple was 6 years ago at their wedding. We have had MANY shoots since then because Vicki feels photos are as important as I do. I was so excited to hear when they wanted to adopt :) They have had many obstacles to overcome lately- some harder to bear than I can possibly imagine -but have come out stronger and on top.

But today is a joyous day - today the adoption of their two youngest children became final and I had the honor of photographing their adoption ceremony. I felt overwhelmed with happiness along with the LARGE group of family and friends they had gathered today, (which I have taken pictures of most of them over the years as well:) ) Now they can officially start the beginning of the rest of their lives together.

So the moral of the story is, being a photographer is not just about pointing a camera and snapping, it is about bonding with your clients and telling their stories through pictures.

I love you guys so much Vicki and David, and I am so happy God has brought these sweet children to you...

Well, I just THOUGHT summer would be relaxing and quiet - it has been anything but :( Lots of vacations, visiting family, entertaining 3 kids, and SCHOOL WORK...but I'm doing my best to enjoy every bit of it. :) But I did manage to squeeze in photos of this precious little angel...isn't she perfect???

As many of you know, this is my best friend, Ashley, and her ever-growing family :) She has 4 beautiful babies and we can't wait to meet Miss Regan in just a few short weeks...eeek :) Some women are just put on this earth to be Mommy-To-Many and Ashley is one of them :)

Here are another couple of cuties to start your day of right :) Little brother was not impressed with being in the flowers at all, but he's still handsome - sad or not :) And big brother is always a ham and keeps me on my toes..love these boys :) Be sure to like my page to see more cuties and promotions :)

Check out these little cuties. Miss J couldn't recover from the little fall she had on the way to the bluebonnets and had a hard time giving out the smiles. Luckily, even her sad face is adorable :) Miss S was all about the camera and gave me enough smiles for her and sister both :)

I had the honor of taking pictures for this amazing woman and her family recently. The love they have for each other is very evident :) Today, she goes in for surgery as a step in her fight against colon cancer. She is a very brave person and has an awesome support group - she is going to kick cancer's butt :) So please say a prayer for her today...

A special THANK YOU to all my dedicated customers this past week. Even though the weatherman made me a little (a lot) crazy with the "rain"forecast, it all worked out :) So now I'm in editing mode and had to share this little cutie that I'm working on right now. Are those eyes amazing or what???? :)
