These kids live in a literal trash dump at a border town in Mexico. The three days spent there on a church mission trip, I was able to capture raw moments of these kids that wander around the area where our team worked to build one tiny home for a single mom of three very young kids.
Though living in literal filth and garbage, it’s hard to not notice their joy in the most mundane. All their toys and clothes are scavenged from the dump. They share as if it’s part of who they are. You give one kid a candy, it gets passed on the smallest kid first. In the few days that we were there, I have never once heard a kid complain or cry.
Their smiles are infectious.
Their love for each other is contagious.
Their contentment in life reflects glaringly at me as I contemplate on my own self.
As I browse over these few select pictures, I am reminded once again of the precious moments spent with them.
I am very grateful for the experience. ♥️
