In case you needed to hear this today (plus a little reminder to myself). Motherhood, and womanhood is not for the faint of heart. We put a lot of pressure on ourselves, especially during the back to school season to perform at our peak on all fronts. It can be exhausting. Let this be your reminder to give yourself grace and permission to let go a little and remember that you've already done more than you give yourself credit for.

Meet Arielle Skoryk , and area based psychologist whom I had the pleasure of photographing for a .

In order to determine the best approach for her new images and brand, we spoke in depth about who her clients are and how she wants to portray herself as her brand and head of her practice. We even discussed the types of outfits that would showcase the style she wanted to present. As with almost all my photo shoots, it is a very collaborative approach, personalized to each client's unique goals.

Arielle specializes in kids age 5-18 with behavioral issues and mental conditions that are challenging for home caregivers to manage. What sets her practice apart is her relationship-first approach and communication process with everyone involved in her client's care. When conversing with Arielle I was struck by her caring and supportive demeanor and her warm professionalism. She is both highly educated and extremely approachable and relatable as a mother herself.

Even from the brief time we spent, I could tell Dr Skoryk was genuinely committed to her patients/clients' success and supplying their caregivers/loved ones with the right tools and support to make progress outside of her sessions.

In our branding photo session, we went beyond just pretty pictures and traditional headshots. We spent time creating images of everything from her to her beautiful office spaces to aspects of her work that help paint a picture of who she is, what she does, and how she does it. She now has tons of great images to use on her website and social media that can be paired with a variety of different content.

This morning I was reflecting on how we are all beginning a new season once again. It's easy to forget how much things change over time, like how quickly kids grow, when we are in our own comfortable routines and the bustle of everyday life. While fall is in a lot of ways a time to look forward - forward to the new school year, perhaps to a new job, or a new sense of wellbeing after a long restful vacation - to me it offers a moment to look back. I look back on how many families or customers I've served. I look back on how different my daughter is from the first day of school last year. I look back at what I've accomplished and what I still have left to work on. I look back on past fall sessions and reflect on what worked (or didn't) and some of my favorite images.

This session is still one of my all time favorites and it was taken in 2020. This family is still one of the most beautiful, loving, light-filled families I know. The warm glow of the sun in these images is the embodiment of that love and joy of life. When I think about what made this so special I think about spiritual connection and the deep love the parents have for their children. How each life is a gift and a miracle. How they treat others in everyday life and how they slow down to appreciate living. I wasn't rushed, or formulaic here, I was creating with them. I was taking cues from their relationships to help capture those moments of genuine connection in a timeless way. I was creating images that cannot just be seen but be felt.

You can probably tell from the way I write I am a deeply sentimental and nostalgic person. I always have been but as I get older and as I watch my daughter grow up, I feel the pull of the past even harder. In this new beginning of fall I'm focusing on slowing down to free my mind and my heart to create meaningful soul-fulfilling work.

My heart does a happy dance like this photo whenever I discover a new hidden gem spot. This location I scouted last week and I plan on offering it for at least one of my fall session dates. It is so unassuming you would never drive by and think twice about it. Unless you are crazy like me and think about photography every where you go!

I'm expecting the leaves here to change a little on the earlier side and the sun trickles in through the trees in the background making it look more golden than green. I love a good back-lit scene and this spot is *chef's kiss*

It even looks great now in late summer. I love getting outside and walking or hiking around new places just thinking of the photo possibilities is one of my favorite ways to enjoy nature.

Happy 75th Anniversary to ! In case you missed it during this busy busy summer, I was out at the soon to be Honorary Sebastiano Conte Way to capture this huge community event. Serving for over seven decades and multiple generations is no small feat. The community came out to celebrate their beloved and reminisce with local and tv celebrities alike. It was fun for all ages.

Members of Princeton's former softball team were there to throw a pitch, the expertly sang the national anthem, the danced and posed for photos, and the Princeton Mayor read a beautiful proclamation to dedicate the street to a temporary honorary way named after Sebastiano Conte, the man with a dream who started the enterprise back in the 30s with Princeton's longest bar and bringing the first pizza (and still the best) to Princeton in the 1950s.

Helping local businesses celebrate, commemorate, document, or impress is something I'm very passionate about. Community events like this are a great way to connect with your customers old and new. I couldn't be more honored the owners and family of Conte's reached out to me to capture this milestone event for them.

I'll be doing another vendor post to showcase some of the businesses and groups I met there.
