Walks at dusk provide some of my favorite scenes for inspiration. A lonely bench overlooking the sunset, or the sun setting over the hills above a town, or a single tree in an open field preparing to catch the moon in it's branches before it rises into the evening sky to be lost until tomorrow. Nature does indeed provide some of my favorite moments to soak in the overlooked things of the world around us.

Spent a night walking through some wetlands in Kansas a long time back, when the sun started setting behind the clouds across the water from me like this. Glad I had my camera with me to snap a few pics like this! Even still, there's nothing like the real deal. Leave a comment or send us some pictures of some of your favorite sunrise or sunset photos!

Found this GIF I made over 2 years ago staring up at the sky on a camping trip. Something about timelapses makes me smile! We'll have to try to catch some more nights like this soon!

Spent a night walking along the river in Tulsa last week while one of Gypsy's sisters was in town. We've seen this building a few times as we've walked or driven by before and Gypsy has been itching to come back and capture it all lit up. We spent a good long time just enjoying the quiet and the area around. But something about lights in the darkness always seem brighter and more brilliant.

One of my favorite shots from the trip Gypsy and I took to Tennessee was this one. Just a simple birdhouse on a fence post, next to a gravel drive, under the brilliance of a clear and starlit night. There is not a lot that beats a night under a clear sky, just looking at the stars above, with someone special by your side. Photo credits for this shot go to Gypsy! Making this shot one of my favorites.

Setting up our Christmas tree early since we'll be traveling over Thanksgiving and won't be able to keep to the traditional "day after Thanksgiving" set up πŸ˜… However, we did celebrate Thanksgiving just yesterday with the Oklahoma family, so "technically" this still counts! Stay tuned for some pics left over from our Tennessee trip, some pics from a recent walk around town at night, as well as some new things from our upcoming trip to Iowa!! This time of year is always so busy! Gypsy and I hope you and your families are safe and well as you spend time with your loved ones!

Just a quick little post after the Lunar Eclipse, right outside our front door last night. Had a really clear night with a bright full moon to give us a really great view of the full surface as it moved into the shadows. The first few are a closer representative of what you could see with the naked eye, but the last few are 1 second exposures, and boy do they catch some awesome colors! It was a really cold night, but I'm glad we were able to watch, and capture some of it!

As Gypsy and I arrived to the cabin we would be staying at last week, our headlights swept past this old barn and cast an image in my mind that I just had to try and capture. I'm not sure it's the best I could ever do, but this is still something Gypsy and I were both pretty happy with. If you get dizzy easily, maybe don't swipe to the second image though πŸ˜…

Gypsy and I recently got the chance to explore this neat old cabin in the Tennessee mountains while on our honeymoon. The lower portion of the main house we're told was pre-civil war era! So cool to be able to see a piece of history. Played around with a little B&W filtering too. Interesting to see what an old picture would have looked like versus what the actual thing looks like! History is so fun! We're both definitely enjoying our time on this adventure!

While on our current trip in the Tennessee mountains, Gypsy and I decided to stop and explore some local waterfalls and streams. Quietly taking in the falling water while everything else around it seems frozen in time, I was reminded of how often I sometimes need to just sit and be still while all the busyness of life moves around me. Keep an eye out for more from our mountain explorations!
