Such a full circle moment for me, getting to photograph my midwife’s new baby. It was the most perfect of sessions with the most wonderful of humans. Such an honor and privilege to share these moments with Darcie and her youngest daughters, sweet Winter Lorraine, and big sister Emmerson. 🥰

This week and last I am at Raintree photographing all the sweet children! It is one of my greatest joys and not just because one of mine goes there! Every year I have the distinguished pleasure of watching these cool authentic humans as they grow up! Between that and doing KU Law photos the previous weeks, I’ve been editing like a busy bee, and neglecting my spring sessions that are poised on the horizon…so I pose this quarry…are any of you great at posting to social media and looking for a little side hustle.

Ope! Just heard from a Momma that she couldn’t figure out how to get to the sign up for Mother’s Day Minis, so let’s make this easier. There are two links in my sign up…the first will give you information on ALL of my spring and early summer sessions and includes within it the links to signing up for any and all of that.

The second link is for MINI sessions only. You have to choose the date of May 3rd from the calendar and select your specific time to sign up.

Can’t wait to celebrate all of my Moms. Text, call, email, DM with questions…but no matter what, get those pictures taken. Life is short and worth capturing. Xo

My birthday was Sunday ✨ and while I’m so thankful for another beautiful trip around the sun, my life is most gloriously consumed by my children, so the fact that Sunday also happened to be Mother’s Day in the UK got me to thinking…Mother’s day US is May 10th and it’s been a few years since I’ve done Mother’s Day Minis! So look at your calendars, May 3rd, 6 slots only…Mother’s Day minis! I will find somewhere pretty and green, with flowers, and a sprinkle of joy because Mother Day Minis are back. Portraits will be returned by Mother’s Day!

Riding the warmth of these pretty sunset senior sessions as I sit in three layers in my chilly home. I’ll take more vintage trucks and sweet kiddos! So excited to get these images back to this deserving guy! 🛻🌅🎓

Holiday week simultaneously restored me and kicked my butt, and this morning we narrowly avoided wrecking the van while dodging multiple other wrecks and stuck vehicles before giving up and retreating home via the only open path to our house. Thank goodness for fortitude and a sense of adventure. We even learned Oliver’s bus (that he missed) got in a wreck.

With that said happy December, and how pretty is this snow? Today I’m wrapping up Raintree orders (class portrait orders are due today) and editing and delivering my last two family sessions! Remaining senior sessions will go out this week—so I almost made my December 1st goal!!! Not too bad!

This has been such a lovely fall! Rich colors, mostly agreeable temps, and so much love. It makes you forget that the world is so splintered.

As for me, I took a breath to spend some time with my own babies who were growing in desperation for a little quality Momma time. I also maybe snuck in a couple of sessions. As my season is winding down, so are my edits. My goal is to get everything back by December 1st 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

I left this session and was immediately emotional. The love, the affect geography has on loved ones, the hospitality, the reminder that you don’t need a perfect stage to create perfect images, that at the end of the day it is the connection, the love, the joy, the humans involved, the preservation of moments we never get back and that we also get to cling to because of a picture in time…this session was the soul in the storm. In a world so turbulent, daily reminders of humanity—this is why I do what I do—and no matter how old you are, loving your children is as profound as it gets.

I used to work with many photographers and one lesson I learned from that experience was that it didn’t matter how technically or beautifully perfect an image was—if the photographer couldn’t connect with their subjects—that effected how the family felt about those images. While I always aim for technically and visually beautiful images, I will say that first and foremost I want you to have an amazing, joyful, and peaceful experience in my care.
