A few of my favorite shots from 2024. I traveled far and wide for a lot of these, but some didn't require any travel at all.

If you've ever tried to purchase prints from my website and found that the shopping cart feature was broken and unreliable, I have some good news! I have completely overhauled the backend of the site, so you shouldn't run into problems anymore (I say "shouldn't", but I have trust issues when it comes to software. 😆)

The technical explanation for the buggy shopping cart was that the server that was hosting the website was way too underpowered to handle e-commerce, so when a photo was added to the cart, the server would get overloaded, and then the shopping cart would crash, which made the website unable to find it (if you waited a few minutes, it would eventually come back, but that makes for a terrible user experience.)

I ended up moving the entire site over to a much more robust server, and it definitely seems much more stable now. So, if you'd like to buy prints at any time, it SHOULD work much better now (probably, hopefully, fingers crossed! 🤞)

I made my way to the South side of Clinton Lake over by Lawrence, Kansas last night. There was a severe geomagnetic storm in progress, and I was hoping to catch at least a little bit of it on camera.

As I hiked along the shore through a large swarm of insects, I set up my tripod near this group of old dead trees in the lake. I thought it might make for an interesting foreground should some auroras appear.

It was just starting to get dark enough for a few stars to appear at this point. Covered in bugs, I took a few test shots to see if the Aurora was visible yet. There was a hint of purple in the sky, which was a good sign.

Right around 8:30 PM, I was visited by a pair of wild raccoons as the sky suddenly lit up with color, at least on camera. I could make out a faint glow with the naked eye as the raccoons fished for mussels in the water.

The Northern Lights were progressively getting more intense and vibrant on camera, and to my delight I was actually able to see it clearly with the naked eye! This is extremely rare in this part of the world and was definitely much more than I expected to see. Aurora and Borealis, however, seemed completely uninterested (those are the names I gave to my two raccoon buddies.)

I stayed out until about 9:30 PM, then made my way home. The display was starting to fade at this point, and I still had to work in the morning.

I just wish I had remembered to bring bug spray.

I did over 4000 miles worth of driving, but visiting Oregon was definitely worth the trip! I had never been to the state before, but man, I've been missing out. I definitely intend to return one day. There's just SO much to photograph around there!

These are a few of my favorite shots from around Oregon. They were all taken within a 5-day period, in a few different locations. I could easily spend weeks out there if I had the time.

I did it. I chased the waterfalls.

I know this page has long periods of nothing, but guess what! I'm back on the road again! I actually left my home last Sunday, but I've been off the grid and far from any cell service/wi-fi for so long that I haven't had a chance to post.

I'll start with a couple of shots from my first stop. I decided to camp out next to Skinwalker Ranch again (I'm a sucker for weird spooky s**t.) Paranormal activity was low this time, but it at least made for a good opportunity to get some night sky photos.

I'm still out and about and very far from home, so expect more photos over the next week or two.

I'll be attempting to photograph the eclipse in a couple of days, and while I'm at it, I've got some cool citizen science in progress! Can't wait to see (and hear) what happens!

More updates:

I've had another thing in the works for a bit, but I didn't want to say anything until it was a sure thing.

A new magazine is about to launch, called FFAIMM Magazine, and I'm going to be featured in it!

FFAIMM Magazine (Fashion Film Art Independent Music Media) will be featuring several sort of under-the-radar artists of varying mediums that they felt deserved recognition. They recently interviewed me for my photography work, so you'll be able to read that interview when the magazine launches.

Additionally, FFAIMM Magazine has invited me to their red carpet event in Los Angeles, California in July! I'm definitely not used to being in any kind of spotlight, so this is certainly something I never thought would happen. Looks like I'm gonna have to get fancy!

I'll share some links and whatnot when I have 'em, but since launch is imminent, I thought I'd go ahead and let the cat out of the bag.
