It's been awhile since I've posted any photos. August is typically a down month for me and the camera. But it also means that the elk rut is coming soon.
I took a quick scouting trip north yesterday to check out some spots that I'm thinking of hitting in a couple of weeks to avoid the crowds once the rut heats up. But I started the day in Benezette because it's a long drive and I wanted to get at least a couple of shots to make that 3:30 alarm feel a little better. I found a single group of 4 bulls but only got a couple of shots before they moved away.
It was a foggy morning, but I really like this one. I'm not sure whether I like the color or black and white version better. Which is your favorite? Click on them to view them full size.
