Grand prismatic is one of my favorite spots on Earth to visit, but one of my least favorites to go to as a photographer. Outside of getting in a plane to shoot from overhead, it's so massive in scale that it's really hard to capture what you see and translate that to an image. The Grand Canyon is also on that list of places that are very hard to capture the way you see it. So the takeaway from this is obvious-- if you see Grand in the name, good luck trying to photograph it.

May 25th. For months, I’ve been calling this Launch Day. But there is a very specific reason I chose today to open the gates to the Dead Lands.

Today is my father’s birthday.

When I was writing this book, I spent a lot of time thinking about legacy, about quiet strength, and about what it means to carry a heavy burden so the people behind you don't have to. A lot of the grit and resilience you'll find in these pages is a reflection of the man who raised me. Happy Birthday, Dad. This one is for you.

As of this morning, The Simple Man is officially live and out in the wild.

To the Vanguard—the early readers who have supported this world from day one—thank you. If you are ready to step into the snow today, I’ve structured the launch so everyone can join the journey, no matter how you prefer to read:

šŸ“± The Digital eBook: On sale for just $0.99 (Special Launch Week discount until May 30th!)

šŸ“– The Paperback: $12.99 (Prime Eligible)

šŸ›ļø The Hardcover: $21.99 (The ultimate physical artifact for your shelf)

I have one final request: If you decide to take this journey with Marcus and Eirys, please leave an honest review on Amazon when you finish the last page.

For an independent author, reviews are our absolute lifeblood. You don't have to write an essay—just a sentence or two about what you felt while reading it. It tells the algorithms that our world is worth exploring, and it is the only way we survive and reach new readers.

Thank you for believing in this.

The gates are open. See you in the snow. šŸŗā„ļø
