Twelve years ago, my journey into photography began with a single and stubborn goal, to buy a horse named Ghator.
That high school hustle taught me more about business than any classroom ever could. I spent every weekend behind the lens, chasing portraits to make that dream a reality. I got the horse, but I also discovered a career that would eventually take me into rooms I had no business being in: from capturing campaign trails, tech and medical innovators and their “brain babies”, to TV personalities, and whole heartedly welcomed into so many families.
The first two photo were the last time I saw him.
It’s a bittersweet reminder of where and why I started. It’s also highlights the profound truth behind every project I take on today. Time is fleeting, but a legacy shouldn’t be.
Whether I’m navigating the high energy corporate event in Vegas or capturing a quiet milestone for a family in Michigan, I know the weight of the story I’m holding. I’m not just delivering a gallery, I’m preserving a moment that will eventually be all that’s left.
I’ve traded the stable for studios, but that same “Ghator hustle” is what I bring to every client. You’ve built something worth documenting. Let’s make sure it’s told with the excellence it deserves.
Miss you, Ghator and your amazing horse hugs! You’re remembered in every shot I take.
