📸 Your story is a journey,
and it’s an adventure worth capturing. 📸
When I set this as my business motto, I definitely created this with my clients in mind and little did I know how much this would come full circle for me personally. Each of our LIFE STORIES are filled with adventures and journeys which can be happy, sad, life-changing, exciting, emotional and some... journeys to making tough decisions.
For the past 13 years, I’ve had the absolute honor of capturing your most treasured moments. From weddings and newborn smiles to senior portraits and family milestones, Bri-lliancy Photography has been built on the trust and support of so many wonderful people. And for that, I am beyond grateful.
As many of you may know I am a one-woman team and have been since the very beginning. Over the 13 years of owning and operating my business, life has pulled me in different directions, but my passion for photography has always remained constant despite my life changing. One thing we all know for certain is, no matter how we may try, we can not make more time. For me, I have learned that time is my most valuable asset in life. Unlike money or material possessions, once spent, time cannot be recovered and that is why it is the most precious resource a person has.
Along my beautiful journey in life, I have been blessed with a full-time job, which also fuels another passion of mine, helping people with their own small businesses. This amazing piece in my life puzzle has demanded more and more of my time and most recently over the past year I have stepped into a Director position that has demanded more of my time, sometimes way more than the traditional 40 hour work week.
That is just one of many factors that has divided my time and before I know it there is no more time to give. As my story in life has beautifully unfolded, my time has become hard to fit in my passion for photography between my job and the most imporant piece to my puzzle and my true purpose in life... my 3 amazing children.
When you choose to become a business owner you choose a rewarding journey, but also a challenging journey. As a business owner, you have many different pressures and for me mine has been the feeling of letting customers and my business down by not being able to devote more time and dedication to the business. As time is divided things start to slip and that feeling has been wearing on me and my health.
As a business owner you learn to have thick skin, you adapt and overcome, and open yourself up to criticism. Today, I saw a message from one individual to another that pointed towards my business that stated "she picks and chooses the clients she shoots” and that I am a “horrible business owner for doing that.”
And this made me realize, this is not at all how I want Bri-lliancy Photography to be known. I have poured nothing but love and hard work into my passion of capturing priceless memories and when the reputation of my business has been suffering because of my own fault, this reassured me what I already knew and that is the need to take a step back and pause. My business has suffered due to the lack of time to meet the demand I worked so hard to build. I have failed my business in not being able to provide the time necessary to provide the service I truly want to be providing people.
With that in mind, I’ve made the difficult but necessary decision to pause all bookings until May 2025. This is a necessary decision for my business, my personal health and the future of my business. I know the importance of time and this time I need to focus on my health, my job and my children without the pressure of feeling like I am not doing the best I can with my business. With this break I will return and continue capturing life’s most beautiful moments with the same great passion and energy when I started 13 years ago.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your love, support, and understanding. I can’t wait to pick up my camera again and continue telling your stories soon! I have weddings scheduled for Summer 2025 that I will be ready to give my all and capture the same love and passion that I have in providing this service to you my clients.
