We are extremely proud of our team for the amazing coverage of the NS19 launch. With each broadcast, the team will introduce a new angle that we’ve never had, or figure out how to get a shot that we’ve been working on for months. We rehearse repeatedly using 12 synchronized playbacks of individual cameras from previous launches. We practice holds, and unexpected scenarios “just in case” so that our reactions are muscle memory and don’t require us to figure it out in the middle of the launch. But there are some things that can’t be rehearsed without an actual rocket flying, such as remotely tracking New Shepard with a joystick, or creating an amazing stereo soundtrack that’s worthy of the images. These are the times when the crew impresses me with with their pure skill and intention to excel at what they do. Live TV isn’t easy, launching people into space isn’t easy, the two combined is not for the faint of heart. Our most sincere thanks to the Blue Origin team for choosing us to cover these important first steps to private space exploration, and for supporting us with access to the areas and people we need to properly Tell the Story of Space.
