After years of shooting portraits, events, and just about everything involving people, I’ve learned to appreciate gear that makes my life easier without compromising the quality of my images.
I am super excited about the new Westcott Rapid Box Switch Fold-Flat Softboxes.
Anyone who’s worked on location knows that setting up lights, packing gear, and finding room for everything can be a challenge. The idea of a softbox that opens in 1 second and folds flat for storage is something I get excited about.
This new line of modifiers gives the same beautiful output that we are used to from Westcott, they come in 9 different sizes, all include grids, and include the bowens mount switch plate!
My take? If you’re a photographer who regularly works on location, I’d definitely put these on your radar. Faster setup and easier transport can make a real difference when you’re juggling your subjects, cameras, and lighting.
I’m always interested in gear that helps us spend less time wrestling with equipment and more time creating great images.
What do you think? Would the fold-flat design make a difference in your kit?
