I spent the past few days way off grid on the 2700 acre Cooper Ranch in outback Arizona.
John Cooper II and family own this awesome cattle ranch. The history dates back five generations.
John is the man I bought my mobile command center from last year at this time, and I can tell you I could not have purchased my Artic Fox from a finer gentleman.
Spending the past few days with him and his sister and brother in law was pure delight. The history. The story. The life of hard work, blood sweat, and tears. The cowboy way of life is dying my friends. The rugged beauty of the land. One minute it sustains you, and in a second can kill you.
I’m at a stage in my life where I wish the simpler ways of the past, yet need to meld with our current times as well. Hence this post.
Recently I watched a video by the fine lady Christian A Schafer. In that video she asked the question “did you live” your life. She is currently living hers full time in a van at 37 years old.
It’s my opinion her current life with technology is a compliment to our past lives of the cowboy way. Free and easy, and very much alive!
In the coming years I plan a hybrid plan of this myself. Country not cities. With an appreciation for the beauty and challenges of the landscape with my Photography.
I hope you’ll join me in my quest.
