NUKE SNIFFERS
An extremely rare Boeing WC-135R Constant Phoenix made a surprise appearance over San Antonio, Texas during a routine training mission. Nicknamed the βnuke sniffer,β this specialized aircraft is designed to detect radioactive particles and gases in the atmosphere, helping monitor nuclear tests or accidents around the world.
There are only three WC-135Rs in existence, all operated by the U.S. Air Force from Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska. Despite their rarity, these planes regularly conduct training flights and international missions, quietly gathering critical data.
