How fast time goes. The jump from photographing a tiny newborn to a walking, giggling little one who's about to have their first birthday will never not surprise me.

A year sounds long until you watch it happen.

Parents live every day of that first year, but somehow it still feels like it happens in the blink of an eye. The sleepy newborn days become first smiles, first steps, and suddenly you're planning a first birthday.

Getting to document these seasons for families is one of my favorite parts of this job. Watching babies grow feels a little bit like magic, even when I know exactly how fast time moves.

A meaningful ceremony in the same church where Emily’s parents said “I do.” Emily sang so beautifully during the dedication of flowers to Mary, a moment that felt especially sacred and personal. Guests gathered out on the deck between celebrations, playing games, catching up, and soaking in a really beautiful summer evening. And dinner? Chipotle. Because sometimes the best wedding food is simply the food people are genuinely excited to eat.

No pressure to make the day into something it wasn’t. Just a wedding that felt completely them.

Despite all the ups and downs in the weather lately, we lucked out with the most beautiful evening for this crew. And can we talk about this spring color palette for a second… perfection.

But let’s be honest, sessions like this aren’t really about the outfits. They’re for moms.

The ones who just want everyone in one place for five minutes, smiling (or at least mostly cooperating 😅), with something to look back on when life inevitably gets busier and louder.
