CHEYENNE + ANDREEEEE 🌼💛🌸

Quite possibly the most colorful wedding I’ve ever photographed.

They took over their parents’ block in South Haven, filled it with all of their favorite people, approximately every color known to man, and got married right in the middle of it all.

There was laughing. There was crying. There were the MOST FUN and colorful heels for the ceremony. There were yellow platform shoes for the reception. There was a green suit. There was a walk to the beach. There was SO much love.

OH AND! Those super fun paper flowers everywhere? Cheyenne and her friends/family made every.single.one.

The whole day just felt like them.

Fun, colorful, completely personal, and surrounded by people who were so damn happy to see these two get married.

Rainy wedding days have a little magic of their own. 🤍

Christina + Alec were married at the Dunes Pavilion in Chesterton, and after a day of watching the rain come down, it let up at exactly the right time. They got their outdoor ceremony by the lake, surrounded by a completely full crowd of family and friends.

And those people came ready to CELEBRATE. 😂 The party afterward was such a blast.

We even embraced the rain at the end of the night, and I’m so glad we did. Congratulations, Christina + Alec! What a beautiful day. 🥂

I laughed until I cried more than once on this wedding day, which probably tells you everything you need to know about these two.

Tess and Jimmy got married surrounded by the people they love at The Brewery Lodge in Michigan City, and their entire day felt like them. Colorful, emotional, a little wild, and so much damn fun.

These are the kinds of wedding days I love photographing. The beautiful stuff, obviously, but also the tears, the ridiculous laughter, the people losing their minds on the dance floor, and all the little pieces of a day that actually make it yours.

I’ve been thinking a lot about my work lately. What I love about it, what I want more of, and what I want to push myself to explore.

So I went to the beach with zero expectations and gave myself permission to play. I shot the entire session just on my 35mm to push myself to move around and find new perspectives.

I played with movement and slower shutter speeds. I composed a little differently. I tried a different approach to color and editing. I let some things be soft and imperfect instead of immediately deciding they were “wrong.”

And through all of that, I realized I don’t actually want to change the heart of how I photograph people.

I still want connection. I still want movement and laughter and affection. I still want photographs that feel like the people in them.

I just want to get a little more curious about how I photograph it.

Anyway. Here’s what happens when I go to the beach to f**k around with my camera for a night. 🤍
