With my Bo***ir event coming up this weekend, I wanted to take a minute and open up about why I love this style session.
For startes, if you don't already know what a bo***ir session is let me enlighten you! “Bo***ir” is a French word meaning a lady’s private dressing room or bedroom. In photography, bo***ir refers to a style in which women pose for photographs partially clothed or in lingerie. The photos are tasteful and nudity is typically implied rather than explicit. They are sensual and sexy as well as classy and elegant. These type of photos are usualy taken for groom's gifts or for a significant other, but can be for individual use as well!
As someone who has both taken and participated in bo***ir, I highly recommend it and believe every woman should do it at least once in their lives! I think we can all agree that to some extent, we are all very self conscious about our bodies in one way or another. Lord knows I am! However, this gives you the opportunity to embrace your body and really put some self love into action! It forces you to be vulnerable. I know I know, who actually enjoys being vulnerable? But allowing yourself to be vulnerable can open you up to a whole world of possibilities you never even knew existed. You're doing such a disservice to yourself when you allow society or others to dictate how you see your own personal beauty. Now don't get me wrong, I know I'm not everyone's cup of tea by any means! But that doesn't make me any less of anything than anyone else! That's the beauty of diversity! And that friends deserves to be celebrated!
Ladies, you were FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE!!! You hear that all the way in the back?!?! Because I can't shout it loud enough! You, all of you, just how the good Lord made you, deserves to be celebrated! I have photographed women of all shapes and sizes and EVERY LAST ONE of them was remarkably beautiful in their own way.
This will come off so cheesy, but to be able to actually witness a woman coming out of her proverbial cocoon and emerging into that gorgeous butterfly she ALREADY was, is quite a sight to behold. Nothing fills my heart more than seeing someone fully loving themselves❤
That's what the purpose of these sessions are! To teach self love, confidence, empowerment! Who wouldn't want that?!
