I have a passion for experiencing the world around me and seeing it through a few different lenses. I enjoy backpacking, cycling, and trying new things. Primarily I use a digital camera, but I also love to shoot film. Alex, my partner and best friend has helped my passion for photography grow with his support and creative style. With a background in graphic design and working as a display artist,

I'm so glad to have a partner with such an eye for detail.

My photography is influenced by my love of art history and connecting with others. I am currently directing an art program for PLAY, a non profit after school program providing free yoga and art classes for youth in the Phoenix metro area. I met Deanna, the founder of PLAY, through working in the art studio at the Children's Museum of Phoenix. Working with children and families has always been a passion of mine.

I look forward to working with people who want to be able to tell their story with photography.

Hello, Kate here, it’s been awhile and Alex and I have some updates…
First, a gratitude shout out to the folks who’ve been supportive, thoughtful, and kind to us through the spectrum of hardships throughout the ongoing pandemic. Whether you booked us, or referred us to a friend or workplace, thank you! Local businesses have been dying due to the lack of resources and support, so it is greatly appreciated when y’all share your support and shop with community in mind.
Alex and I have moved to Michigan! We are currently in the Detroit metro area until we can find and settle down in a home closer to Alex’s new position in Ann Arbor. My grandparent's wedding album had 20 photographs, a far cry from the "typical" amount of images asked for a wedding today.
Out of those 20 photos, this one of my grandparents thanking/kissing guests is my favorite. It captures who my grandparents were; kind, thoughtful, and loving.
There's so much I continue to learn from photographs and mindful reflection. Sometimes less is more.❤️

Since beginning Alex and Kate Photography, we strive to support clients in need of flexible payment plans for weddings and events because we believe that every client deserves the best.
