I occasionally make it to Jazz Tuesdays at Mort’s where Jeff has done an awesome job creating space for some incredible musicians to play and connect with the community. I had the pleasure of hanging out with .plays.drums at the studio recently. He proved with even the most minimal kit you can put down a great beat! Thanks Jeff.

I met Ali a while back at my community photo day and the studio last year and since in passing around the neighborhood and at the coffee shop. We usually talk about anime films we like and stuff like that. I always enjoy the conversations and kindness. Today I asked for a few images and in the process noticed the necklace Ali had on. I learned it was a gift from his late mother, a gold stone as a symbol of good fortune to come. It really was beautiful shimmering in the light, what a great sentiment.
