When I’m shooting events, I’m in my zone. That’s where my focus is. Not something specific, just something that stands out. If I’m not talking to you, it’s because I’m my mind, I’m there for one thing. Not for the perfect shot, just a shot that says they were there. Every photo means something, and I try not to miss it.
Action event shooting is different from portrait, couples, birthdays, family, boudoir/intimate. I’m not focused on one, the focus is on all. Kind of like sports in a more crowded environment. Eyes everywhere, trying not to miss a thing. I won’t get it all, I won’t get everyone. But the ones I do catch, in a crowns of hundreds, thousands, will mean something. They will be part of the story.
So if I’m not talking. If I don’t look happy. I’m just I’m my element, focusing, looking for the story. If you ask me for a picture, I will gladly take it. If I don’t acknowledge you, just try again because I may not be paying attention to anything but what I’m focused on.
