I just watched 27 dresses a couple days ago and was reminded of my favorite part of a wedding day, the groom watching the bride walking down the aisle. My eyes go to both of course but my favorite part is the eye contact they make, with or without tears you can always see the yearning to be married to one another which will never get old. 🥹🤍

I love how wedding ceremonies are simultaneously predictable and yet SOOO unique from each wedding to the next. The expected and unexpected moments are some of our faves.

The moments we all expect I also feel like never go as expected, in your head you plan for it but then the moment comes and all else just melts away. That’s the best part. 🤍

A couple Sunday mornings ago Madison texted me and was like, engagement sesh today?? I was like HECK YAH!!! And omg I am sooo glad we did it! That morning there was snow on the ground but by the evening it was all melted. We weren’t even planning to go to the Fischer but GOSH I am sooo glad we did because it turned out perfect! We had so much fun together. Madison and Dylan really did become instant friends to us 🥹🫶🏻

And you KNOW we had to take advantage of the spinny doors, my hands down fave photos for sureee 🤭 The stairwell photos are a close second though. What’s your fave photo?!

THOSE PHOTOS THOUGHHH 😍 Indoor engagement sessions are so underrated! Going to the Fischer Building was super duper last minute and it was so worth it, we got all of these photos without flash, too!! We love it all! Which photo is your fave? Ours is the one either them in the revolving door 🤭🤍

GUYSSS WHAT EVENNN 😍 I wish you could hear my squealing when I saw the photos when we got home from Kayla + Ethan’s session and I was going through the photos. It’s just all so perfect.

We’ve been in downtown Grand Rapids countless times before but my goodness after THIS I’m just so obsessed with it down there. 🤩

I’m also low key never getting over that third slide, when space is there yet it still feels so intimate and romantic, gosh gracious I’m obsessed with K+E’s engagement sesh. This is NOT the last you’re seeing of it!! 👏🏻

Now just keep an eye for their engagement session video, a new add on we’re obsessed with 🤭

AHHH DETAILS 😍 (here comes a wedding industry slightly hot take post guys…)

I’ve heard quite a few times in the industry that detail photos are only for the photographer and not the couple, but as a recent bride I totally disagree with that.

Your detail photos capture and document the small things that you may have spent HOURS on intentionally deciding. The veil your sister had at her wedding, the something blue your mom gave you as a wedding gift, your grandma’s necklace that your grandpa gave her on their wedding day. All part of your wedding details. (gonna get me emotional already) 🥹😭

These are extremely unique, irreplaceable, and sentimental items on your WEDDING day that you can show future generations. No other part of the day highlights these sentimental details so intentionally!

I was so particular and intentional with our wedding day details and I’m so grateful we have timeless images of those important and sentimental items.

Detail photos are for the sentimental bride, it’s for keepsake and nostalgia, it is so worth having, take it from a recent bride 🤍

One of my fave parts of being a wedding photo and video is when we get to do engagement session VIDEOS, too!!! We’re slowly wanting to incorporate it into most all of our sessions, be on the look out because I am STOOOOKED 🤩🎥🤍

The fan favorite way to spend a wedding day is to dance, run around, play tag, and just be. Just being is SOO underrated you guys!! 😍 It’s so dang important to have fun on your wedding day, a day that is KNOWN to be so stressful is also known as the best day of your life. HUH🧐???

Winter is now nearing its end my friends… the ONLYYY downside to that (in my opinion) is that it means no more snowy engagement sessions building snowmen, having snow ball fights, and especially no more cutesy ice skating engagement sessions. SOO I figured it was about time that I shared this cutie couple (who happen to be our dear friends, too)!!! ⛸️❄️🤍📷💍✨
