This years North Adams Soap Box Derby was so much fun!

All these racers came to do battle in the most fun way possible! It was so cool to see all the different style builds and to watch the kids check each others cars out. The roars from the crowds brought incredible smiles on faces , you could tell it meant allot to the kids as they were flying down the road to the finish line! Thank you to Nick Mantello for grabbing all the shots I couldn't be in place for.
I had all I could do to get my daughter back in place to race over and over. Before the races started my daughter Emelia told me she was nervous but excited. By the time the first race was over and the excitement kicked in, her whole mood changed! I could hear her saying to the racers next to her as they went down the hill. "You can do this" "keep the car straight". Even as a competitor she was routing for the other kids.
Thank you to everyone responsible for making this event come to life!Thank you to all the BBQ competitors for bringing some amazing bbq for the crowds to enjoy North Adams Police Department, Massachusetts Adams Police Department North Adams Fire Dept. Bonnivier. Hopefully next years event will be bigger and better!

Tell us what you thought about the event..

Which car was your favorite?
Who had the best BBQ?
What would you like to see for next year to make this an even better event?
