Most clients are surprised to find out that my name is NOT Alice. I have had a deep love of family and all things sentimental my entire life. I have also had a love and appreciation of art since childhood. I longed to become a work-from- home- wife/mom/ graphic designer. In an effort to do so, I obtained a BA with a Commercial Art Concentration and a Minor in Graphic Communications from Millersvi
lle University. Shortly thereafter, I married my high school sweetheart. Since graduating from MU, I have worked for many years as a Retouching and Restoration Artist in the photo industry with a healthy dose of Graphic Designer thrown in the mix. As the years passed, my passion for photography grew as I became a wife and mother. I began to understand the value in capturing precious family memories and I kept being led back to my love of shooting my own images. While over the years I provided photo sessions for friends and family, I laughed off the suggestions to start my own business until 2015. I finally took the leap and officially opened my own photography business after much thought and cheerleading from others! The name Alice Margaret is deeply rooted in the family history I cherish. My husband and I share a unique story. Both of us had grandmothers named Alice on our father's sides and Margaret on our mother's sides. Given this unusual circumstance, it was only natural that their names be given their due honor. When we were blessed with two little boys, the names fell by the way side ...until Alice Margaret Photography was born! It feels amazing to be able to honor these four wonderful women who are no longer with us here on earth. I keep them all with me and they each are an inspiration in their own way. Without them I would not have the family I cherish so much now, nor the opportunity to be living my dream, as they have paved my way. When things and people in this world have gone, what remains are our memories and our love for our families. I would be honored to have the opportunity to help you capture and preserve your memories for years and generations to come!
