June is PTSD Awareness Month

PTSD is complex! Treatment, healing, and recovery are not a one size fits all! So even though I will be sharing posts this month regarding things that help(ed) me, I certainly do not want to generalize or minimize it in any way. My hope is to bring awareness to it.

I am a hairdresser by trade and have literally encountered thousands of conversations with clients over the past three plus decades that involve components of PTSD. Understanding is of the upmost importance not only for those who struggle with PTSD, but also for those who have loved ones battling it.

Ephesians 4:29-32
The Message
29 Watch the way you talk. Let nothing foul or dirty come out of your mouth. Say only what helps, each word a gift.

30 Don’t grieve God. Don’t break his heart. His Holy Spirit, moving and breathing in you, is the most intimate part of your life, making you fit for himself. Don’t take such a gift for granted.

31-32 Make a clean break with all cutting, backbiting, profane talk. Be gentle with one another, sensitive. Forgive one another as quickly and thoroughly as God in Christ forgave you.
