It was a random Monday morning or so. Could have been Tuesday. James was on the hunt for local drone pilots - he knew his question could only be captured with a remote pilot. I get people asking for my work all the time, but those are friends of friends. 2nd and 3rd degree connections, you know. He called me without knowing a thing about me. Just my google page. This was my first “cold call” client - I was elated! From the moment he explained it to me, I knew I wanted this project. I love me some secrets!
Monique had no idea what was going on. And we intended on keeping it that way. The plan was James invites Monique out on the water after a weekend out with her girlfriends. They were going to kick it at their favorite spot, Indian Rock. I’m no where to be seen, just randomly flying my drone as a hobbyist.
“Don’t mind the drone. They’re probably here just capturing footage of the bridge’s progress or something” That was our story in case Monique saw the drone 🤫 🤫
Sushi was our signal. Once James brought the sushi out, it was go time. Gracias a dios for the second camera on my Mavic 3. I slapped that bird into , zoomed in on them and knew when it was time. Sushi’s out and Im on them! They munch on some of the rolls. He takes a few sips of his beer, places the bottle back on the log that Monique is perched on. Looks up at me, takes one final look at the sunset, and drops to his knee. Cementing his love for Monique into their favorite rock, he asks for her hand in marriage. There was a slight pause as Monique is shocked by what she’s been prompted with. Sushi bowl in hand, she places it down to answer.
SHE SAID YES!
They laugh together. You can see the excitement in James face as he places the ring on her finger and stands her up as his new fiancée. Filled with joy, they take turns kissing one another. They look out into the sunset as Roger 🐶 jumps on James to congratulate him too.
Congratulations to you both! I love me some love. And I thank you for letting me capture yours.
Cheers to you both!
