This is Rival 5.

They are new to the Twin Cities but they're not. All the members are extremely talented musicians who've been playing in bands for many years. With the exception of Tyler, one of the lead singers, he has a background in opera. He just happened to be playing at an open mic night I believe at route 47. That's where John the drummer saw him. The five the people that make up this band have created a perfect balance everything that you love about 80s music.

They came together as Arch Allies. They realized they could be so much more by doing it their way. So they split ways and formed Rival 5. I'm pointing this out because there still seems to be some confusion about all of this. If you like 80s music, you should give this band a chance. They play songs from artists like Blondie, Joan Jett, Kansas, Mister Mister, REO Speedwagon and a lot of other great 80s bands.

The talent level in this band is off the charts. They're playing several different places in the Twin Cities area before the end of the year one of them being Bogarts in Apple Valley, mid November.

Continuing with my posts of people that matter to me in my life. This is Brett and Lindsey Zisler. Truly two of the coolest people I know. It's a bit of an odd friendship for me considering that they are so much younger than me. But I feel like I have known them most of my life.

When I'm out shooting festivals, Brett is the other photographer that makes up our duo. He's ridiculously talented but more than that, really funny and great to be around. His wife Lindsey is not only lovely, but super cool. They have two young boys that are phenomenal. Their oldest Brendan, I swear it's gonna play in the NHL someday. He has more heart than almost any athlete I know.

I am so grateful that they are both in my life and the friendship that I have forged with them. Lindsey like Cheryl my wife, have always been so supportive of the dream that Brett and I share. Without them we could not do what we do. To create amazing images of live concerts. There are nights when we are sitting around editing that I laughed so hard my stomach hurts the whole next day.

The whiskey is always flowing and the jokes never stop!

Brett will tell you met at Handy's in Cadott, but that's not accurate. We met in the pit at a rockshow. We just bumped into each other at Handy's from time to time. Brett was attempting to downhill ski there the first time I saw him. This was taken at Louder Than Life festival a year ago. Man time flies!

I hope all of you have friends like this in your life. I am truly blessed!
