However, I strive to take photography to the next level. The idea of knowing a person just by looking at a photograph. The ability to see the emotions of somebody once the shutter clicks. I strive to catch the goofiness of love and adventure in a single photograph. The feeling of accomplishing the ability to create those images is exactly what I live for. The thing about photography is, it’s never just about the photo.

It’s about the moment you almost missed but caught just in time. The way the light hit just right, or didn’t. The way a stranger looked at you when you lifted the camera—curious, cautious, open. It’s about standing in the cold until your fingers go numb or waiting out the rain because you know the shot will be worth it. It’s about seeing things differently, even when the world tells you to look the same way everyone else does.

Photography is not just a skill. It’s a practice in paying attention. In staying. In learning to sit with discomfort because sometimes the best frame isn’t the easy one.

You won’t always get the shot. But the trying? That’s where the real magic happens.

This shot was a seven minute exposure. Seven minutes of stillness with a 10-stop filter holding back the light, stretching time in a way the eye can’t see but the camera can feel.
