http://kerri-gilpin.blogspot.com/ My parents gave me their Canon AE-1 35mm film camera when I was 18, and I basically wore it out. I still love film.

Since then I have had 4+ years of formal education in Photography and Graphic Arts. After college, I focused my attention on Graphic Arts, and have been teaching at the college level for 9 years. My photography experience goes hand in hand with Advertising and Marketing. My style of photography is primarily journalistic portraiture, but I have regular corporate clients as well. Some call me "artsy

" - I've even taken photographs with a shoebox. I experimented with medium format, lomo, cyanotype, gum-prints, and spent hundreds of hours inhaling stop bath in the darkroom before finally going digital in 1999.

Insomniac: a series of photographs that are taken in the dark.
Photography literally means capturing light, so it's then a bit of an oxymoron to do photography in the dark.
Insomniac (n): a person who is regularly unable to sleep.

Maybe I haven't fully and completely communicated my love and respect for Born and Bread Bakehouse and Jen the Baker... it's not only a beautiful piece of culinary art, this Banana Nutella Pastry is just about 10 times- no 100 times- better than you'd already expect it to be. Happy 2nd Anniversary to Born + Bread Bakehouse, and Thank You to Jennifer Smurr for bringing the highest quality pastries to Lakeland. However, it's so much more than that: you bring a new level of COMMUNITY to Lakeland, a new level of CULTURE, and a new level of what it means to be an entrepreneur THRIVING in Lakeland. You certainly do bake a mean cruffin, baby, but your vision probably didn't include the friendships and conversations formed while waiting in line, or the gals who are dreaming of starting their own business looking to you as a business model. Speaking of model, you are a model (pun intended 😘) of grace and humility, and what it looks like to be KILLING IT.
